Shax & Mat measures what your connection actually does — the speed, the delay, the DNS, and the parts of the internet your network refuses to carry.

SPEED • Download and upload over several parallel streams against Cloudflare's global edge, so the number describes your link rather than one distant server • Ping, jitter and packet loss measured at the TCP level, the closest an app can get to a real ping • A live gauge and a graph of the whole run: a link that stutters looks different from one that is simply slow • Every run is saved with the network it was made on

DNS • Times the resolver this network handed you against Cloudflare, Google, Quad9 and AdGuard • Queries go straight to each resolver over UDP, for names that cannot be answered from any cache — so the comparison is real, not a cache hit • Shows which resolver is fastest where you are right now • Detects a filtering resolver — one that answers "nowhere" for tracker domains — and flags answers that differ from a public resolver's

YOUR NETWORK • Public address, operator and AS number, country and city as the internet sees them • Wi-Fi, cellular or wired, plus metered and low-data-mode status • Every interface on the device and the addresses it holds • Tunnel detection: whether traffic appears to leave through a VPN, a relay, or Cloudflare WARP / iCloud Private Relay • IPv6 checked end to end, not just on paper

WHAT GETS OUT Probes the ports that decide what is possible here: HTTPS, HTTP, DNS over UDP, TCP, TLS and HTTPS, SSH and IMAP. If encrypted DNS is blocked on this network, or UDP does not leave at all, you will see it — run this before blaming an app.

Tests run against Cloudflare's public speed endpoints, public DNS resolvers, and RIPE's public registry for operator names.
