About OptiFuelUK
OptiFuelUK helps UK drivers find the cheapest place to fill up along their planned route. Not just the lowest price per litre — the real total, including the fuel burnt on the detour to get there.
Why "cheapest" isn't always cheapest
A station 5 km off your route at 1p/L less might cost you more once you factor in the extra fuel you'd burn driving the diversion. OptiFuelUK does the maths for you. For every station within your chosen corridor of the route, it computes:
Fill cost (litres × £/L)
+ Detour cost (extra km × your vehicle's efficiency × £/L)
= Total trip cost
Then ranks the candidates by total, not by sticker price.
Features
• Plan any UK route with full MapKit address autocomplete and one-tap "Use current location" for the start
• See every nearby petrol station on the map, colour-coded by price decile — green for the cheapest 10%, red for the priciest
• Configure your corridor width from 1 km to 20 km
• Rank candidates by their real total cost using genuine MapKit driving distances
• Net-saving badge per row — "£1.32 saved" or "£0.48 more" vs the on-route baseline
• Tap any station to highlight its detour route on the map
• Export the planned trip — start → station → destination — to Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze in one tap

Saved places
Set Home and Work once in Settings, then fill either end of a route with a single tap.
A tidier planning screen
Start, destination and the plan button are now a single card instead of four, so your route and the station map fit on screen without scrolling.
Progress while stations are ranked
Ranked Stations now shows how many stations have been costed so far, so you can take the cheapest one showing instead of waiting for the rest.
Fixed
Starting from "Use current location" now sends your live location to Apple Maps and Google Maps, instead of a pin dropped where you happened to be when you planned the route.
