PIN Vault

Locky is a vault for photos, videos, and documents that cannot be opened against your will.

Many "private vaults" rely on Face ID or Touch ID — but biometrics can be applied to the owner without consent. Locky is deliberately different: the only way in is to enter a PIN.

How protection works:

— PIN (at least 6 digits) — the only key, no Face ID or Touch ID
— Duress code — a second code you set when creating the vault. Entering it destroys the real vault's key irreversibly: the files become permanently undecryptable, and no one — including the developer — can restore them
— Instead of the real vault, the same PIN opens a decoy vault with photos you preselected. From the outside, entry is indistinguishable from normal
— Secure Enclave — on supported devices, the master key is additionally protected by a hardware chip, silently, with no biometric prompt
— Every file is encrypted with its own key (AES-256), wrapped by the master key
— Storage is excluded from iCloud/iTunes backups

Locky does not use the cloud, servers, or accounts. All data stays only on your device.

After the key is destroyed, files on disk are additionally overwritten with random data. Full physical erasure on flash memory is not technically guaranteed by any app — protection comes from destroying the key.

Important: recovery is impossible. If you forget your PIN or enter the duress code, the data is lost forever. There are no backups, no cloud, and no password reset.
