About True-Slate
True-Slate is a professional digital clapperboard and timecode slate for a one-time price, with no subscription.
It does the job of a hardware smart slate: a clean, readable board, broadcast-grade SMPTE timecode, a sync clap you can trust to the frame, and a shot log that goes straight to your editor. On the iPhone or iPad already in your kit bag.
REAL TIMECODE
• SMPTE at 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97 DF/NDF, 30, 50, 59.94 and 60 fps
• Drift-free, driven by a monotonic clock, not a timer that accumulates error over a long day
• Jam to your master: enter a value, jam to time-of-day, or round up to the next minute
• Jammed, the clock runs continuously like real hardware. Un-jammed, the clapper works as a stopwatch
• Freeze the readout on the clap so the camera records one clean, unmistakable frame
LTC LINEAR TIMECODE
• Read SMPTE LTC in through the audio input to jam the slate from a master clock, with a live time-since-jam and drift readout
• Generate LTC out to jam a recorder or camera straight from the slate
A SYNC CLAP YOU CAN MEASURE
• Loud, sharp clap with a matching haptic and adjustable level
• Optional white sync flash as a visual reference for the camera
• Built-in sync self-test: measure the real beep-to-flash offset and store the correction
• MOS mode: silent clap, logged as MOS
• Second sticks: log a repeat clap on the same take without touching the take number

• Circle or NG each take, add a note

• Tail slate: flip the board 180° and mark it as an end slate
• Dark set mode: dim the screen so the board doesn't blow out on a low-light scene
• Production presets: save whole slate setups and switch jobs without retyping
• Scene numbering with optional letter suffixes (12, 12A, 12B…)
• Reverse-side scratchpad for continuity notes
• Setup guard: a nudge if you're about to roll with placeholder fields
