LINA CHESS - Offline Chess Analysis & Training

Understand your moves, practise with purpose, and bring what you learn to the board. LINA CHESS combines on-device Stockfish analysis, AI play, tactical puzzles, opening lessons, and game review in one app for iPhone and iPad.

ANALYSE EVERY POSITION
• Use the Stockfish engine for real-time position analysis without an internet connection.
• Read centipawn evaluations and mate distances with the evaluation bar and move-by-move advantage graph.
• Follow arrows for recommended moves and possible opponent threats.
• Compare up to three engine lines. On compact screens, expand extra lines when you need them and collapse them to keep the board in focus.
• Adjust analysis depth and choose which analysis aids appear.

PLAY YOUR WAY
• Challenge the AI at a difficulty that suits you, or play a local two-player game on the same device.
• Switch between AI and local play during a game.
• Return to a position in your game review and play it out against the AI to test another idea.

LEARN OPENINGS, NOT JUST MOVE ORDERS
• Explore 20 guided openings with background, move-by-move explanations, alternatives, and plans for the position at the end of each line.
• Search openings and filter by colour or favourites to build a collection you want to study.
• Study the reasoning, then test your recall in move-by-move quizzes.
• Explore supported alternative continuations and jump to a related opening when a matching lesson is available.
• Use FSRS-based spaced repetition to revisit opening material over time.
• Review difficult positions separately, choose what to retry, and see dated records of your attempts.
• Distinguish moves answered without help from hints and wrong attempts.
• Continue from the final lesson position against the AI, turning opening knowledge into practical experience.

BUILD TACTICAL CONFIDENCE
• Train with more than 50,000 puzzles, covering ratings from 800 to 3000+.
• Filter by rating, theme, and solving status, including unplayed, solved, and failed puzzles.
• Practise forks, pins, skewers, back-rank mates, discovered attacks, and other recurring patterns.
• Ask for a one-move hint when you are stuck. An arrow reveals the next move without giving away the whole continuation.
• Hint-assisted attempts are recorded separately from unassisted successes.
• Browse puzzle history, follow rating changes, and return to difficult puzzles for focused practice.
• Pause a puzzle and continue later.

TURN GAMES INTO LESSONS
• Save games automatically as local PGN records and replay them move by move.
• Review accuracy and mistake counts for both sides, with move-quality feedback from Brilliant, Great, Best, Excellent, and Good to Inaccuracy, Mistake, Miss, and Blunder.
• Identify openings and variations automaticall
