The use of language, illustrations and learning activities in this book are adapted to the characteristics of students as teenagers with linguistic material packaged through the interactions of the lives of the main characters of this book; Galang, Monita, and Andre. These figures represent Indonesian teenagers in the context of the home and school environment.
To help you acquire English language skills, the English for Nusantara Student Book uses a Genre-Based Approach combined with a process of acquiring a first language and additional languages that moves from oral language skills to written language. The language skills focused on in this book include listening, speaking, reading, viewing, writing and representing which are presented in an integrated manner in various types of text. The material content of this book was developed based on the Learning Outcomes contained in the Merdeka Curriculum by paying attention to the interrelationships of each level.
A clear example of this connection is the type of text used in the English for Nusantara book series. This Class VIII book is related to recount, narrative, descriptive and procedure texts. Recount and narrative texts are texts that have only been studied in Class VIII, while descriptive and procedure are types of texts that have been taught in Class VII but are packaged with new topics. In addition to the types of texts already mentioned, English for Nusantara supports the development of language skills in this phase by integrating the use of English to discuss and convey desires or feelings in dialogues that support the main topic in each chapter.
These facts ensure that the common thread of your English language competency as Class VIII students will be connected to advanced material in Class IX and in accordance with the Learning Outcomes in phase D.
