Is it halal? Tayyib is your halal scanner: scan a barcode and see a clear verdict in seconds, with sources, and honest when the origin is unclear.

If the scanner can't find a product, just photograph the ingredient list, the text recognition runs right on your device and checks additives like E-numbers, gelatine and emulsifiers (e.g. E471).

THE FOUR VERDICTS
• Halal, no flagged ingredients
• Doubtful, the source is unclear
• Not halal, contains a non-permitted ingredient
• Unknown, not in the database yet

Halal, with a note: ingredients like flavouring or E471, whose source is not stated but usually plant-based, no longer read as doubtful, they get a note instead. Prefer it stricter? Turn on "Strict about unknown sources" in Settings.

WHY TAYYIB
• Always explained: every flagged ingredient shows where it typically comes from and what the ruling rests on. Where the schools of law differ, we say so and follow yours.
• Honest about doubt: we never guess. If the source of an ingredient like gelatine is unclear, it's doubtful, not simply green.
• Data-minimal: your school of thought and scan history stay only on your device. No account, no tracking of your religion.
• In German, English, French, Turkish and Arabic.

WHAT TAYYIB CAN'T DO
Tayyib reads printed ingredients and cites known rulings. It can't know the source of every ingredient or how an animal was slaughtered, and it is not a fatwa or an official halal certification. For binding assurance, rely on recognised certifications and the manufacturer. For allergies, always rely on the packaging.
