About Messages: Text Messenger Home
Messages: Text Messenger Home is a default SMS and MMS messaging app with a custom Android home screen. Send and receive carrier text messages, organise conversations and keep everyday apps within reach. No app account or sign-in is required.
SMS AND MMS MESSAGING
Choose Messages Home as your default SMS app in Android's system dialog to use its messaging features. Read conversations, compose messages, reply to contacts and receive message notifications. Select an available SIM for outgoing messages on supported dual-SIM devices. SMS and MMS availability, delivery and charges depend on your device, carrier and mobile plan.
ORGANISE YOUR INBOX
Search message text, browse available conversation categories, pin important conversations and archive threads you want out of the main inbox. Use local read and unread controls and manually block unwanted conversations. Recognised one-time codes can be copied when you choose the copy action. These tools help organise messages; they do not provide account verification or a financial service.
ATTACHMENTS AND SCHEDULED MESSAGES
Choose a photo, video or audio file through Android's picker, take a photo with an available camera app, or select contact details to include in a message. Optional location sharing adds a map link to your draft after you grant approximate-location access. Review your recipients and attachments before sending.
Prepare a message for a later time using scheduled messages. Pending messages and attachment references are kept locally. You can cancel a pending schedule before it is sent. Exact-alarm access may be needed on supported Android versions. Sending still requires the SMS role, permissions, an available SIM and network access; scheduling does not guarantee delivery at an exact time.
LOCAL SMS BACKUP AND RESTORE
Keep a local copy of your SMS messages using Backup and restore in the Messages navigation menu. Choose a folder with Android's file picker, then use Backup now to create a JSON file. To import a compatible backup, select the file, review the message count and confirm Restore. This feature supports SMS text messages, not MMS attachments or automatic scheduled backups.
Messages Home must be your default SMS app for backup and restore. When a restore operation ends, a prompt lets you keep Messages Home or open Android's default-app settings to choose your previous SMS app. Changing the default does not remove messages already imported into the device's SMS store. Backup files are not encrypted by the app; store them in a location you trust and share them only intentionally.
HOME SCREEN AND APPS
Choose Messages Home as your Home app to use its launcher. Open installed apps from the app drawer, keep favourite apps within reach, organise shortcuts and add supported Android widgets from the built-in widget picker. The home screen includes a clock, date and convenient access to your message inbox and composer. Default Home and default SMS are separate Android choices; SMS acce
