Syllable Game – A syllable and letter game to develop reading and spelling skills through play.
Syllable Game is an educational app focused on syllables, letters, and the French language. It was designed to strengthen reading, word comprehension, sound recognition, and spelling memory. It is intended for learners, parents, and professionals who want to work on reading and spelling in a simple, effective, and fun way, regardless of age or level.
Developed in collaboration with two speech therapists, the game offers a progressive and accessible approach, suitable for a wide range of users, including those with learning disabilities, ADHD, and dyslexia, as well as those who wish to improve or consolidate their French skills. The app can be used for personal, educational, or support purposes.
Three game modes are available.
The "Syllable Dominoes" mode allows players to reconstruct words from mixed-up syllable tiles. It helps to understand word structure, strengthen syllabic reading, develop visual and auditory memory, and automate the recognition of written forms.
The "Find the Right Word" mode helps to work on homophones, distinguishing between words that are pronounced the same but spelled differently. It helps improve spelling, enrich vocabulary, develop meaning, and reduce confusion in writing.
The "Dictation" mode allows users to work on pure spelling: the word is either heard or illustrated, and then it must be typed using the keyboard. For demanding users!
The game includes an illustrated dictionary of several hundred words, paired with clear and professional images. This word-image association facilitates comprehension, memorization, and vocabulary acquisition, and provides effective support for learning and practicing French.
The free version gives access to three complete themes. Two additional themes are offered free of charge each day, with a selection that changes daily. A full version unlocks all themes without restriction.
Particular attention has been paid to readability. The interface uses a legible font, appropriate spacing, optimized contrast, and visual highlighting of syllables to reduce cognitive load and facilitate reading, especially for individuals with learning disabilities.
The interface has also been designed to promote concentration and limit visual overload, particularly for individuals with attention deficit disorders such as ADHD. The colors have been chosen to create a calm and structured atmosphere, without excessive animations or unnecessary stimuli.
The linguistic content, progression, and presentation of the exercises have been validated by two certified speech-language pathologists. The game is inspired by existing educational practices, has no medical purpose, and is part of an educational, supportive, and inclusive approach centered on the joy of learning through play.
