About Go game Mate AI
Go Mate AI is a Go app where you play characters matched to your level, from complete beginner to high dan, and then review each game.
Who it's for
- People learning Go for the first time, or building strength on their own
- People who want to play an AI comfortably before facing a person
- People who want to know where a game turned
Play Go against AI
Play against 58 characters, each with their own personality. There are six levels: Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Dan, and High dan. Characters at Intermediate and below play in styles such as territory, influence, and attack. Choose a 9x9, 13x13, or 19x19 board, and an even game or a handicap game.
The engine is KataGo. The ranks shown in the app are a rough guide, not an official rank or professional strength.
Game review
After a game, go back through it one move at a time. See the AI's win rate and score difference, and compare your moves with the AI's suggested moves to find the ones you missed. You can share a reviewed game as an SGF file.
Beginner tutoring: Tutoring with Eunji
On a 9x9 board, Eunji plays with you one move at a time. Pick the better of two glowing points, and when the game ends, look back together at the good moves and the shaky ones. It's made for your very first game of Go.
Learn
Follow along with lessons that build up from the basic rules. Some lessons let you place stones yourself, so it sticks better than just reading.
Solo practice
Play both black and white yourself, with no AI. Record different move sequences from the same position and compare them, or save your game and pick it up later.
Spectate
Pick a game in progress from the list and watch it live. Share your game's code and a friend can watch with you. You decide whether your games can be watched.
A World of Go with stories
Each of the 58 opponents has a story. As you meet them one by one, you learn why they play the way they do.
Available in Korean, English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese.
Keep playing Go at your own pace.
