Alias is a party game where you explain words and guess them against the clock. Gather your friends, split into teams, and play on one phone. Whether it’s a party, a family game night, or a get-together with colleagues, you can play offline without ad breaks.

How to play Alias

One player explains a word using associations, synonyms, and examples while their teammates try to guess as many words as possible before time runs out. You cannot say the word itself, use parts of it or words with the same root, or translate it. The app handles the timer and keeps score.

The idea is simple: say it another way! Even first-time players can quickly learn the rules. One device is all you need — players don’t need separate phones.

Explore more than 20 word packs across the supported languages, with thousands of words covering topics such as movies, music, history, science, animals, anime, memes, gaming, and more. Available packs vary by language. Choose one or combine several, then select an available difficulty level for each: easy, medium, or hard.

🧪 The Lab: create your own word packs

Build custom word packs for Alias around your group’s shared interests and inside jokes:
• Create word lists on a topic of your choice.
• Add words individually or paste an entire list from your clipboard.
• Edit words, rename your packs, and add your own cover images.
• Combine custom packs with the built-in selection.

Your custom word packs are saved on your device and available for offline play.

Our Telegram bot can help generate a word list for your chosen topic. Copy the results and paste them into a word pack in the Lab. Using the bot requires Telegram and an internet connection.

🎭 Challenges for lively rounds

Turn on extra challenges and try explaining words like a robot, in a whisper, or as a sports commentator. Every round of Alias is another chance to surprise your team with a creative explanation.

The “Without Words” pack

Want to try something different? Act out words using gestures, facial expressions, and sounds without saying them. It’s another way to have fun with friends and discover how well you understand each other. This pack is currently available in Russian.
