Ringwise: Caller ID & Blocker Android

Ringwise puts a name on incoming calls and keeps the numbers you don't want off your phone. Look up a number, build your own spam and block lists, and find the messages you never opened - all in one app.

Ringwise matches calls against the contacts already saved on your phone, so you know who is reaching you before you answer. Numbers you flag are handled quietly in the background by Android call screening.

KEY FEATURES

- Caller ID from your contacts: incoming numbers are matched against your saved contacts and shown with a name.
- Number lookup: type any number into the Tracker tab and see straight away whether it belongs to someone in your contacts.
- Your own spam list: flag the numbers you consider spam and keep them together in one place.
- Block list with call screening: make Ringwise your default caller ID and spam app, and it will silence or turn away the numbers on your lists.
- Unseen messages: with notification access switched on, Ringwise keeps the chat notifications you haven't opened so you can read them later.
- Contacts: browse every contact on your phone and see which ones Ringwise has identified.
- Calls and favourites: search your contacts, star the people you call most, and dial straight from the app.
- Five colour themes and a dark mode that follows your system setting.
- 21 languages: English, Vietnamese, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indonesian, Malay and Filipino.

WHO IT'S FOR

Anyone who gets calls from numbers they don't recognise, wants a block list they control themselves, and doesn't want a message to disappear into a pile of notifications.

PERMISSIONS RINGWISE ASKS FOR

- Contacts: to match a phone number to a name.
- Notification access: to list the chat notifications you have not opened yet.
- Default caller ID and spam app role: to screen incoming calls against your spam and block lists.
- Phone: to place a call when you tap a number inside the app.
- Battery optimisation exemption (optional): so the system does not stop call screening while the app runs in the background.

You can decline or revoke any of these in Android settings at any time; only the matching feature stops working.

FREE, SUPPORTED BY ADS

Ringwise is free to download and free to use, and is supported by advertising. This version has no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. Where the law requires it, we show a consent form before serving personalised ads and we honour your choice.

PLEASE NOTE

- Ringwise identifies callers by matching numbers to the contacts saved on your device. It does not use a global phone-number directory or a crowd-sourced spam database, so a number that is not in your contacts is shown as unknown.
- Call screening requires Android 10 or newer and requires you to set Ringwise as your default caller ID and spam app.
- Notifications are read only to show you what you have not opened. That content stays on your devic
