HV UNLOCK — STAY ON THE ROAD

A BECM or battery pack failure (P0AFA) can leave the car undrivable and waiting on a dealer. HV Unlock resets the condition so you can keep driving — the difference between getting home and calling a tow truck.

The Service High Voltage Charging System (SHVCS) message is a separate problem: the car still drives normally but stops charging. Clear it to get charging working again, including enabling charging on Ampera 2012.

This clears the fault condition; it is not a hardware repair. If the underlying cause is still there, the fault can come back.
