- 📦40 Below version 2.0== What's New in Version 2.0 ==
Thank you to everyone who has used and shared feedback on 40 Below! It has been a lot of fun building this little app, and this version includes some genuinely fun additions and improvements. The headline feature, though, has to be Siri support.
With this update, 40 Below now has full Siri and Siri Shortcuts support. That means you can ask Siri, "What's the temperature in 40 Below?" and it will helpfully tell you the temperature in both Fahrenheit and Celsius for your current location. This works when you have AirPods in and when your phone is connected to CarPlay. If you ask Siri, "Show me the weather in 40 Below," it will present a beautiful view right on the screen without needing to open the app. On top of that, these features are scriptable. The Shortcuts app exposes them so you can use them in your own Shortcuts.
40 Below rarely asks for a review, so if you've found it useful and you have a moment, a rating or review would be greatly appreciated.

40 Below downloads
Worldwide, per day, and installs to date. The band is open; the exact number is free with an account.
How this is calculated
Apple publishes no download counts. App Store downloads come from chart positions and daily rating growth per country, calibrated on Google Play install counts; lifetime installs from ratings worldwide × installs per rating. Confidence is the chance the real number is within half to double ours.
Active users
All platforms, worldwide. Free with an account.
Stickiness (DAU / MAU)
how many monthly users open it on a given day
How this is calculated
Monthly users come from lifetime installs across every store, fitted on monthly active user figures companies publish; daily users = monthly × the typical daily/monthly ratio for the category. Confidence is the chance the real number is within half to double ours.

Review momentum

faster than 0% of Weather apps
Review momentum (0-100) blends how fast the app collects ratings compared with other apps in its category (60%), whether that pace is speeding up (25%) and what recent raters give it (15%; recent stars well below lifetime pull it down). Ratings counts are read daily. A jump usually means a launch, a feature, ads or a new review prompt.
About 40 Below
40 Below was designed and built around one central purpose: to show you the current outdoor temperature in both Fahrenheit and Celsius. Many of us have friends, family, and co-workers who live in other countries, and even the simplest weather chat can get awkward when those relationships cross the F/C divide. 40 Below cuts through that. With its prominent temperature reading front and centre, you're always moments away from being able to tell someone what the weather is like in the temperature scale they'll understand.
Travellers, international teams, expats, and mixed-unit households alike will all find this compact weather app genuinely useful.
Additional thoughtful features:
- See the “feels like” temperature in both °F and °C
- Check the temperature forecast for the next few hours so you can plan your day
- Share a beautifully rendered temperature card with or without your location
40 Below uses your location to show local conditions. You can control location access at any time in Settings.
