About Astro-Cartography
Your birth chart, drawn on the world. Astro-Cartography draws the lines where each planet was rising, setting, overhead and underfoot at the minute you were born, and shows which cities sit on them.
YOUR LINES
• Ten bodies, four lines each: MC (overhead), IC (underfoot), ASC (rising) and DSC (setting)
• A globe drawn from the app's own coastlines, or a flat map to scrub through time
• Tap a line to read what the sky was doing there, and how astrocartography traditionally reads it
• One scale for how close is close, in miles or kilometers
BEST PLACES FOR YOU
• Pick Love, Career, Home or Growth to see the cities near the lines astrocartography traditionally reads for each
• Your chart cast for any city: its rising sign, Midheaven and houses
SHARE
• Cards of your whole map, your chart wheel, one line or a list of places, for a story or a post
• Your birth date, time and place stay off the card unless you add them
ALSO
• Travel: compare the cities on a trip by how near your lines run
• Events: save a date and place, and put that sky on the map
• Eclipses: the real path of every solar eclipse for the next ten years, drawn over your own lines
• Sky calendar: Moon phases, retrogrades, sign changes and eclipses, in your time zone
• Birthday map: the moment of your solar return each year, its map, and the cities on its lines
• Places in your life: where you were born, lived and visited, with the line nearest each, on your map
• Learn: how the lines are calculated, and facts on every planet from NASA and ESA
• Six themes, from paper and ink to dark, in a serif or a pixel style
Planet positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris. One purchase. No account, no ads, no subscription.

Eclipses on your map
Switch on Solar eclipses in the map controls to see the real path of every solar eclipse from last year to ten years ahead, drawn over your lines. Tap the path for the countries it crosses, the time in your time zone, how long the Sun is covered and which of your lines it meets.
The sky this year
Events now shows what the sky does next: new and full Moons, retrogrades, planets changing sign, the equinoxes and solstices, and eclipses, in your time zone. Tap one to see that moment on the map.
Your birthday map
Travel → Your birthday shows the moment of your next solar return, when the Sun comes back to where it was when you were born, in your time zone. Open the map drawn for that moment, and see which cities sit on its Sun, Moon, Venus and Jupiter lines.
Places in your life
Travel → Places in your life: add the places you've lived and visited, and see which of your lines runs nearest each one, alongside your birthplace. Switch on Your places in the map controls to mark them on the map and the globe.
The chart wheel
Your four angles now sit under the map where a birth chart puts them: the Midheaven at the top, the Imum Coeli at the bottom, the Ascendant on the left and the Descendant on the right. Tap a quarter to show or hide that line, or the centre to switch between the flat map and the globe.
Choose your icon
Four home screen icons in Settings → Appearance: Dusk, Paper, Blush and the original Classic.
4.4
A clearer start
Three pages that show the app itself: today's sky drawn on the world, the four angles in plain words, and what you need to make your own chart.
Dates and distances your way
Dates, times and distances follow your phone, so a US phone reads Oct 6, 2026 and miles. Settings → Display can set month, day or year first, a 12 or 24-hour clock, and miles or kilometers.
How close is close
Tap a line and the card shows the scale the whole app uses: on the line, close, moderate or distant, in your own units.
Share your map
New cards for your whole map, your chart wheel and your Best places, sized for a story or a post. Every share carries a link to the app. Your birth details stay off unless you add them.
4.3.0
A new look
Names are set in a serif, lines are finer and the accent is quieter, in every theme. Prefer the pixel look? Choose Classic in Settings → Appearance, or from What's New.
Best places for you
Pick Love, Career, Home or Growth to see the cities that sit on those lines in your chart, and how far each one is from its line. Tap a city to see it on the map.
Your chart in another city
Your birth moment cast for any city: the rising sign, the Midheaven and the house each planet falls in, as seen from there. Open it from Best places, or hold a finger on the map and choose Your Chart Here.
Share a line
Make a card of one of your lines and the city it runs near. Your birth date, time and place stay off the card unless you add them.
Almanac, on paper
The Almanac theme is now light: cream stock and ink. Line names on the map and globe sit beside their lines instead of in boxes, so nothing covers the line itself.
