About Boat Fishing Log: Track & Map
The app's interface is in Japanese only.
The moment you land a fish, take one photo. That's it.
From that shot, the species, time and place, depth, the day's tide—even whether the bottom was sand or rock—goes into your log. If anything's off, fix just that.
New in 2.0, the app also records your track from departure to return, over a seafloor map of Japan's waters.
A catch log that helps you see, later on, why you caught fish that day.
Seafloor maps and automatic depth cover the waters around Japan.
The app's screens are mostly in Japanese.
■ See the seafloor (2.0)
・Depth contours and depth shading for all of Japan's waters, more detailed as you zoom in: every 5 m down to 100 m, and every 10 m on the 200–400 m slopes
・Overlay seafloor types (mud, rock, sand), artificial reefs and wrecks
・Your catches appear by name where you caught them
・Areas you've viewed work offshore with no signal
■ Your whole trip, drawn as you go (2.0)
・Start a trip from the map with one tap. Recording continues with the screen off
・Works with "While Using the App" location access
・Running is drawn dotted, fishing solid, separated automatically
・Distance, times and drift speed are kept
・Lay past trips over each other to compare where you drifted and where they bit
・Optional: start recording automatically when you leave port (off by default)
■ Just snap. Everything fills in. Fix only what's wrong.
・The species is identified from your photo, with three suggestions to tap if it's wrong
・Identification runs on your iPhone. Photos never leave the device
・Depth comes from seafloor data at the catch spot. Enter your fishfinder reading and that value is kept
・Water temperature carries over from your previous catch that day
・Tide, weather, wind and seafloor type are added from public data
You can also add past trips from your camera roll—skunked days too.
■ Your catches become a Catch Book
For each species, see your personal best and how it has grown, plus months caught, size distribution and best conditions.
■ Statistics on your own log
Statistics on your own records reveal patterns you never noticed, like "You catch more on the falling tide."
Conditions are rated by catches relative to time out, so the tides you fish most don't look better than they are.
New in 2.0: depth, seafloor and reef conditions are counted by the time you actually spent fishing, taken from your track. Your usual spot no longer looks better just because you fish it more.
Also: depth × tide and depth × seafloor tables, monthly trends and the evidence behind each pattern.
■ One catch, one image
Species, size, depth and tide on your photo, in three designs. Your spot is never shown.
■ Works alongside your chart app and fishfinder
Not a navigational chart. Built from 500 m bathymetry grids, so small structures don't appear. Use charts and your fishfinder for navigation and safety.
