About Chow: Meal Planner & Groceries
You've tried meal planning before. It worked for a week, maybe two, and then a late night or a sick kid or plain Wednesday exhaustion broke it. The groceries rotted. The delivery app won.
This moment — where the plan falls apart and takeout wins — isn't a failure of willpower. It's a design problem. Every system you've tried asks you to do seven things in a row: decide what to eat, find a recipe, figure out quantities, make a list, shop, cook, and use the leftovers before they rot. Miss one link and the whole chain breaks.
Chow connects the chain. Tell it who you're feeding, what you can't eat, and where you shop. It gives you a week of meals and one grocery list. Sunday handles Wednesday.
WHAT A WEEK LOOKS LIKE
Open Chow and your week is planned — portioned for your household, filtered for your allergies, matched to your store. very recipe comes from established food publications: real cooks, real kitchens, real ingredients. Nothing was generated out of thin air. Look for the Chow Approved badge to see recipes tasted by our Test Kitchen!
ONE GROCERY LIST, ACTUALLY USEFUL
• Sorted by aisle so you walk the store once
• Buy quantities that make sense
• A "Check you have" section pulls pantry staples off your shopping list
• By the end of the week the fridge is practically empty, because you used everything
THE PLAN BENDS
Life will rearrange your week. Chow expects that. Swap a meal you're not feeling. Skip a night you're eating out. Move Thursday's dinner to Saturday. The grocery list rewrites itself every time. A bad Tuesday doesn't blow up the rest of the week.
WHAT CHOW ISN'T
No calorie counting. No macro targets. No photographing your food. No infinite scroll of recipes you'll save and never cook. Chow answers one question — what's for dinner this week — and gets out of the way.
You don't have to become someone who loves meal planning. You just have to open the fridge on Wednesday night, exhausted, and find that Sunday already took care of it.
