Cicero 1.9 supports Unicode 18.0 and gets a new look on iOS 26 and later.
UNICODE 18.0
• Updated from Unicode 16.0 to 18.0, adding 17,810 characters and 15 new blocks.
• Seven new scripts: Beria Erfe, Sidetic, Tai Yo and Tolong Siki from Unicode 17.0, and Jurchen, Small Seal and Proto-Cuneiform from Unicode 18.0.
• CJK Unified Ideographs Extension J brings 4,298 new ideographs, and the new Seal block adds over 11,000 Small Seal characters.
• Characters whose names follow a pattern now show those names. This includes the newer CJK extensions, Tangut, Khitan Small Script and Egyptian hieroglyphs.
PLANES
• The Planes grid now lines up with hexadecimal rows. It shows 8 characters per row on iPhone in portrait and 16 in landscape and on iPad, so every row starts at a code point ending in 0 or 8.
DESIGN
• A new app icon.
• On iOS 26 and later, Cicero uses Liquid Glass.
