About Cuimhne
This is a way to record your life in whatever way you choose. Use words, photos, videos, recordings, web links.
Reflect on your life, dig up memories, reconnect with the years that have passed. You may also use this to reflect on how you are using your time now. Are you doing the things that matter most to you?
You can record periods of your life — school, jobs, places you've lived. This is the background to the daily events that you might record.
You can share your diary with other people electronically or print it as a PDF. This could be a good way for older people to connect with younger people.
Your diary syncs through your own iCloud account, so it is one diary on your iPhone, your iPad and your Mac. It is stored on your devices and in your own iCloud — nowhere else, and not with us.
Cuimhne (approximate pronunciation "KOO-in-yuh") is the Gaelic for memory.

• Zoom into your photos. Tap a photo to see it full screen, then pinch or double-tap to look closer. Tap once to hide everything but the picture, and swipe down to close.
• Read on without going back. In an entry, swipe from right to left to go straight to the next one in the list.
• Short videos. Add videos of up to a minute. If one is longer, Cuimhne tells you how to trim it in the Photos app.
• An entry you start by adding a photo or video now takes the date it was taken, not today's.
1.1
Start an entry from your photos. Choose Share in Photos, Lightroom or Files, pick Cuimhne, and the photos are waiting in a new entry — dated from when they were taken — the next time you open the app.
- Choose which photo is an entry's main one: the one shown large, and in the list.
- Tap any photo to see it full size, then swipe through the rest.
- Chapters: any tag can now be shared or printed by itself, as a PDF book or as a diary file for someone else who uses Cuimhne. Childhood for your sisters, hill days for the people you walk with.
- Favourites: mark the entries you simply like, separately from milestones.
- An entry's background — school, work, where you lived — now sits quietly at its foot.
