Demod turns your iPhone into a software-defined radio receiver. Connect to an SDR server on your own network or anywhere on the internet and explore the airwaves — from shortwave broadcasts and ham radio to aircraft, marine, and FM.
Demod is a client for the most common SDR servers:
• rtl_tcp — for RTL-SDR dongles
• SpyServer — for Airspy and RTL-SDR
• KiwiSDR — HF web receivers
• OpenWebRX — web SDRs (HF, VHF and UHF)
There's no hardware to plug into your phone. Point Demod at a server you run (a Raspberry Pi, PC, or Mac with an SDR dongle), or browse hundreds of public servers around the world and start listening in seconds.

New receivers, cleaner audio, and a better iPad:
• OpenWebRX support — connect to OpenWebRX web SDRs, a whole new network of receivers (HF and VHF/UHF) on top of KiwiSDR and SpyServer. Browse them right in the app, and on multi-band receivers just pick the band you want.
• Cleaner audio on KiwiSDR — the mains-hum filter now works on KiwiSDR and OpenWebRX and turns on automatically at the right 50 or 60 Hz for your region, so that power-line buzz is gone without any fiddling.
• Auto-contrast waterfall — the waterfall tracks the noise floor on its own as conditions change, so signals stay visible without touching the sliders.
• A more reliable server browser — Demod now checks which public receivers are actually reachable from your device and shows why one won't connect (full, offline, app access limited). Dead receivers drop to the bottom, and connections fail fast instead of hanging.
• Filter public servers by frequency coverage — quickly find a receiver that tunes the band you want (HF, VHF, UHF, or wherever you're tuned right now).
• New iPad interface — a three-pane "desktop radio": Favorites and Memories in a tap-to-tune sidebar, spectrum and waterfall in the center, every control visible at once.
• Better landscape on iPhone — a side-by-side layout that keeps the frequency and controls in reach when you rotate.
