Detector Maps

Detector Maps 6.0.0 is our biggest update yet. CARPLAY Plug your iPhone in and your map is on the car's screen. It follows the car and shows your layers, waypoints, finds and Trails, plus the land and tenure under you. Start a Go to from your saved waypoints or the car's own search and get turn by turn directions with spoken guidance. Record a Trail or mark a waypoint from the car. Detector Maps also appears on the CarPlay Dashboard. GETTING TO THE SPOT - Drive and follow roads to any waypoint, dropped pin, search result or shape, with spoken directions, distance and arrival time. - Drive then walk: the drive ends nearest the spot and the walk carries on from where the sealed road ends. - Off road routes on foot or bike: follow tracks and paths, take the ridges and spurs with Bush basher, or go straight line. - A ring around your location arrow shows which way to walk. TRAILS, REBUILT - A live panel while you record: time, distance walked, metres climbed, your elevation now, and finds marked. - Pause and resume without ending the Trail. - Trail replay: watch your day redraw itself with your finds appearing where you logged them, then export it as a video to share. - Trail overview with an activity timeline, elevation profile and your finds. - Trim a Trail to cut off the drive in and the drive home. - Trails+: every Trail you have walked on one map, as a heatmap or honeycomb coverage, coloured by walking, detecting and stopped. YOUR DATA, BACKED UP - Automatic private backups. Your data copies itself to your own iCloud Drive whenever it changes. Nothing to set up. - Turn sync off and your data stays on this iPhone only. - A new Storage screen shows exactly what the app is keeping on your phone. NEW ON THE MAP - Active Fires (Australia): live satellite hotspots drawn as a glow, updated every 10 minutes, with sliders for how recently seen and how precisely placed. - Apple Maps as a basemap. - Roads as their own layer, with category filters. - Far deeper layer filters for QLD, NSW, VIC, WA, NT and SA: search tenements by holder, filter geology by rock type, and a Gold host rocks only switch. - Tap anything and get a clean bottom sheet, with the feature marked on the map. Large leases now select in full. - A layer information sheet on every layer. DRAW, MEASURE AND IMPORT - Draw polygons, lines and grids, edit their points on the map, and measure distance and area. - Rebuilt importing: KML, GPX, GeoJSON, CSV and TCX from Gaia GPS, Avenza Maps, Google Earth or a GPS unit, plus Trilobite backups, geochemistry CSVs and your own georeferenced maps. We read the file first and show you what is inside before anything lands on your map. OFFLINE - Rebuilt Offline Maps with ready made areas, a detail screen for every saved area, live progress, and a download that picks up where it stopped. - Choose which LiDAR renderings to keep. - Imported maps and LiDAR packs now keep drawing with no signal. FREE PLAN Gold occurrences and the tenement, claim and finds layers are now free Australia wide and switched on by default. All of Palmerville Station in Queensland is free on every plan, and you can claim one free offline area anywhere. Saving new offline areas is now part of the paid plans; areas already on your phone stay where they are. FASTER AND STEADIER Quicker launches, smoother maps and a long list of fixes, including imported maps and LiDAR going blank with no signal, and trimming a Trail that had a duplicate copy.
