About E/Numbers
E-numbers tells you at a glance whether a product is safe.
Scan a product's barcode, or snap a photo of the ingredient list, and the app automatically recognizes every E-number in it — with clear color-coding: green (no concern), yellow (limit use), red (avoid where possible), or black (banned in the EU).
What you get:
• Barcode scanner — point your camera at a product and see its E-numbers instantly
• Label scanner — no barcode in our database? Just scan the ingredient list instead
• A complete database of 480+ E-numbers, with origin (natural, synthetic, or semi-synthetic), category, and a safety score
• Documented cancer-risk warnings shown where they apply (IARC/EFSA classifications)
• Search by name, E-number, or the common US/FDA name (e.g. "Red 40" finds E129) — genuinely useful in the US too, where E-numbers never appear on labels
• Save scan results to find them again later
• Available in 13 languages, switchable right in the app
• No account, no tracking, no ads
Whether you're avoiding certain additives for yourself, your kids, or you're just curious what's really in your food: E-numbers gives you a clear answer in seconds.
