- 📦Escapements updated to version 2.0Escapements 2.0 is a major upgrade:
• Tap-sync timing sessions: measure rate against your iPhone's network clock without setting the watch.
• Rebuilt timegrapher with sample-accurate tick timing, a regression-based rate, correct beat error and a live trace. The old loudness-based "amplitude estimate" is gone because a phone microphone cannot measure it reliably.
• The Regulation Journal now learns your movement's real response per quarter-turn.
• Full backup and restore (merge or replace, with an automatic safety copy).
• New five-tab layout with the system tab bar, larger-text support and better iPad layouts.
• Fixes: beat frequency was shown doubled (28800 bph now reads 4 Hz), years no longer show as "2,021", deleting a watch now removes its history, swipe-to-delete that did nothing is replaced with working delete menus, the power-reserve gauge fills correctly, CSV exports keep the time of day, Settings reminders are actually scheduled, and lift-angle and certification facts are corrected.
• The 33 MB image library in Reference is replaced by a short written bench guide.… more - 🆕Escapements first spotted by AppInsider#39 in Top Paid · All Apps · Saudi Arabia

About Escapements
Escapements is a mechanical-watch timing bench for collectors: measure accurately, keep every log in one place, and get clear next steps from your own data. One purchase, no subscription, no account.
TAP-SYNC TIMING SESSIONS (NEW IN 2.0)
Measure daily rate without setting your watch. Pick the time your watch is about to show and tap the instant its seconds hand reaches 12; Escapements records the offset against your iPhone's network-synchronised clock. Finish the session a day or more later and the change in offset becomes a reading. Open sessions are shown on the watch list and the Bench. Manual two-point entry is still available.
REBUILT MICROPHONE TIMEGRAPHER (NEW IN 2.0)
Every tick is timed to the audio sample and the rate comes from a straight-line fit through the last minute of beats, so the result steadies the longer you listen. See rate in s/day, beat error in ms, observed bph, a quality score and a live dot trace, then save the capture to the watch's history. Audio is processed live and never recorded.
LEARNS YOUR REGULATOR (NEW IN 2.0)
Log each regulator adjustment in the Regulation Journal. Once a later reading confirms the result, Escapements works out how many s/day your own movement moves per quarter-turn and uses it for the next attempt.
BACKUP AND RESTORE (NEW IN 2.0)
Save every watch, photo, reading, log and open session to one file in Files or any drive you choose. Restore by merging or replacing; a safety copy of your current data is saved first.
BENCH ACTION QUEUE
The Bench ranks every watch by timing condition, blending recent rate, position spread, service age, magnetism flags and data confidence into a next action: gather data, rest and observe, regulate, demagnetise first or service first.
POSITION FINGERPRINT AND OVERNIGHT REST PLANNER
Log dial-up, dial-down, crown positions and on-wrist runs. Escapements maps positional behaviour and repeatability, and suggests the overnight rest position that pulls tomorrow's average toward zero.
SERVICE, WIND, STRAP AND MAGNETISM LOGS
Track services with optional reminders, wind events with a power-reserve estimate, the strap drawer, and suspected magnetisation or demagnetisation, all tied to each watch's timing history.
REPORTS AND REFERENCE
Export PDF watch reports and CSV logs for one watch or the whole collection. The offline Reference covers chronometer standards (including the new COSC Excellence Chronometer tier), beat rates, positions, lift angles, amplitude and beat-error guides, service intervals, a regulator calculator and a short written bench guide.
PRIVACY
Everything stays on your device. No account, analytics, ads or tracking. The microphone is used only while the Timegrapher is running.
Larger text sizes and iPad layouts are supported.
