Worldwide, per day, and installs to date. The band is open; the exact number is free with an account.
How this is calculated
Apple publishes no download counts. iPhone downloads come from chart positions and daily rating growth per country, calibrated on Google Play install counts; lifetime installs from ratings worldwide × installs per rating. Confidence is the chance the real number is within half to double ours.
Active users
All platforms, worldwide. Free with an account.
Stickiness (DAU / MAU)
how many monthly users open it on a given day
How this is calculated
Monthly users come from lifetime installs across every store, fitted on monthly active user figures companies publish; daily users = monthly × the typical daily/monthly ratio for the category. Confidence is the chance the real number is within half to double ours.

About Exhaust Note: Car Engine Sound
Exhaust Note is not an app that plays back engine recordings. For piston engines, it synthesises the sound from scratch, every moment, from the firing order created by cylinder layout and crankpin phasing.
Why a crossplane V8 rumbles, why a flatplane screams, why a V12 idle throbs — it all comes from the physics of firing intervals. This app computes that physics in real time.
■ Real-time synthesised exhaust
- Zero recorded samples. Crank-angle integration → per-cylinder firing → exhaust-pipe propagation, computed every sample
- Distinct primary pipe, mid-pipe and silencer model for every engine
- Silencer continuously adjustable from straight pipe to quiet
■ Engine collection
- 21 engine and motor presets: inline-3 to V12, two-, three- and four-rotor engines, a 300 kW electric motor and six motorcycle engines
- 12 gearbox presets: manual, sequential, dual-clutch, automatic, EV single-speed reduction and motorcycle 6-speed sequential, paired with compatible powertrains
- Pick a motorbike engine and the view becomes a motorbike that leans into corners, with quickshifter, intake and dry-clutch sounds
- Crossplane vs flatplane V8 — same eight cylinders, completely different sound
- Firing order and rumble index shown as specs
■ Pops and bangs + flames
- Afterburn pops on throttle lift and downshifts
- Flames at the 3D exhaust tips, same instant and same bank as the sound
■ Tunnel mode
- Reverb that wraps the sound in wall reflections, like driving into a tunnel
■ A living 3D machine
- Crankshaft, pistons and connecting rods rotate in phase with the sound
- Gearbox cutaway: constantly meshed gear pairs and real synchro-sleeve movement
- Observe the mechanism at 1/10 slow motion, or switch to real time for phase match
■ The feel of driving
- Torque-converter launch, rev matching, manual H-pattern gear lever
- Haptics on rev limiter, wheelspin, shifts and ABS
- Analogue pedals: press position controls pedal travel
■ Electric drive
- Motor, inverter, underfloor battery and fixed reduction in 3D
- Original sound synthesised from motor speed, load and regeneration, without recorded samples
- Simplified battery charge, energy use and regenerative braking
■ Garage, dyno and mechanism explorer
- Name and save engine, transmission, boost, exhaust, body, colour and assist combinations; restore the last configuration
- Compare torque/power curves and estimated acceleration with shared vehicle mass and road conditions; optional matching gear ratios for combustion setups
- Move through the operating cycle and choose a gear to inspect the mechanism
■ Circuit driving
- Drive GT and four-door coupé models on the test circuit or an approximate 20.7 km Nürburgring Nordschleife based on public data, with forests and elevation changes
- Adjustable graphics quality and saved accelerator/brake modes, pedal response, steering and assists
- Local best laps are separated by circuit, engine and boost class; the three-rotor, four-rotor, electric and motorcycle powert

Latest updates
1.13.0
• Now available in 34 languages: 23 new ones including Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Polish and Ukrainian, with layouts refined for long translations and right-to-left scripts.
1.11.0
• Added the Nürburgring Nordschleife: explore an approximate 20.7 km course based on public data, with woodland, elevation changes and banked Karussell turns.
• More detailed GT sports car and four-door coupe models.
• More room for the main 3D view, with refined toolbar and pedal controls.
• Added three- and four-rotor engines and an electric sport powertrain with a single-speed reduction gearbox and original synthesized sound.
• Save and name your engine, transmission, body, color and driving-assist combinations in My Garage, and restore your last configuration.
• Compare two setups in the new simulated dyno: torque and power curves, peak values and estimated acceleration under shared vehicle-mass and road conditions, with optional matching gear ratios for combustion setups.
• Explore how engines, motors and transmissions work by moving through their cycle and selecting a gear in Mechanism Explorer.
• Improved lighting, road surfaces, nearby forest detail and driving effects, with adjustable graphics quality.
• Accelerator/brake modes, pedal response, steering preferences and driving assists now remain saved. Personal bests are separated by engine; the three new powertrains currently save circuit records on the device only.
Dyno, acceleration and EV battery figures are estimates from the app's simplified simulation, not measurements of a production vehicle.
1.9.0
