- 📦Flare: Photo & Image Editor updated to version 27.2Flare 27.2 — watercolour, a deeper brush engine, and the foldable iPhone.
• New Waterbrush tools: Watercolor Brush, Water, Ink Pen and Lift paint live on the canvas with real pigment flow, bleed, edges and paper grain; 14 tips, Wet Brush presets, per-parameter Apple Pencil dynamics, and Dry to fix the paint into a new layer.
• Brush engine: Scattering, Transfer, Dual Brush, Texture, Color Dynamics, Noise, Wet Edges, Build-up, Brush Pose and Smoothing; presets remember their tool, and imported .abr presets keep theirs.
• Type tool on iPhone: a keyboard bar with a live font preview, the size as a chip, Delete, and a colour that really changes the text; multi-line and area text re-flow as the font changes; double-tap a type layer in Layers to edit it again.
• iPhone Duo: the vertical tool bar carries every tool group and the foreground / background colours, closed and open, with native navigation on iOS 27.1.
• A selected layer shows a Delete button on the canvas; Paths get a loupe under the finger while dragging an anchor or a handle.
• Home: Browse Files…, Import from Files… / from Photos…, a ‹ Home button to leave the document; the Share extension accepts every file Flare opens; Share… sends one flat picture.
• The AI pill opens a native chat assistant.
• Filters and adjustments preview exactly what they commit; Liquify and Pin Warp deform live; Convert for Smart Filters, Create Clipping Mask and Blend If work as expected; Layer Style is a side popover on iPad and fades with the layer's opacity.
• Saving a layered document opened from a flat JPEG / PNG / HEIC never flattens it: Save becomes Save As.

• A live brush-size ring shows the real brush on the iPad while you adjust it.
• New Brush Settings palette and a new Brushes palette with stroke previews; save your own brushes.
• Import and export .abr brush libraries.
• Pencil strokes now draw in real time, and the end of a stroke no longer leaves a heavy dot.
• Pencil now comes before Paintbrush in the Toolbox, and the Airbrush has its own icon.
• Multiply and the other stroke blend modes are correct on soft, transparent edges.
• The ▤ menu adds New… under Browse; Close Without Saving now really discards your changes.
