About GERDragon Acid Reflux Tracker
GERDragon is a clinical diary designed for adults managing gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and chronic heartburn. This medical tracking tool helps you record symptoms, identify trigger foods, and monitor medication effectiveness through systematic logging and pattern analysis.
COMPREHENSIVE SYMPTOM TRACKING
Record heartburn episodes with severity levels, duration, and custom notes. Track additional GERD symptoms including nausea, coughing, and regurgitation. Document the circumstances surrounding each episode to build a complete clinical picture for discussion with your GP or consultant.
FOOD AND TRIGGER IDENTIFICATION
Log meals, beverages, and timing to identify personal trigger foods. Record meal sizes, food categories (spicy, acidic, fatty), caffeine intake, and alcohol consumption. Track eating patterns such as late meals and proximity to bedtime. The app provides statistical analysis to help recognise correlations between diet and symptoms.
MEDICATION MONITORING
Document all GERD medications including PPIs, H2 blockers, and antacids. Record dosage, timing, and your personal assessment of effectiveness. Track which medications provide relief and which do not, creating a practical record for medical consultations.
STRESS AND LIFESTYLE FACTORS
Monitor stress levels and their potential impact on reflux symptoms. Record stress sources and intensity to understand psychological triggers alongside dietary factors.
INTELLIGENT REMINDERS
Receive timely notifications to check on symptom progression after logging episodes. Get gentle prompts to assess potential heartburn following meals. These optional reminders help maintain consistent tracking without being intrusive.
ANALYTICS AND PATTERN RECOGNITION
View visualisations of symptom frequency, severity trends, and trigger correlations. Analyse medication effectiveness rates and identify patterns over time. The analytics provide statistical interpretations based solely on your recorded data, not clinical recommendations.
PDF EXPORT
Export your diary with detailed information into a beautiful PDF to share with your mediacal care professional.
PRIVACY AND DATA SECURITY
All data remains private and stored locally on your device. Optional iCloud backup keeps your records synchronised across your Apple devices. Integration with Apple HealthKit allows seamless health data management. No third-party services, advertising networks, or data sharing whatsoever.
DESIGNED FOR MEDICAL COLLABORATION
Maintain detailed records to share with your healthcare provider. The structured diary format facilitates productive consultations about symptom patterns, trigger identification, and treatment effectiveness.
IMPORTANT MEDICAL DISCLAIMER
GERDragon is a personal diary and statistical tracking tool only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Medication effectiveness assessments are based purely on your personal experiences and circumstances, not clinical studies. This a

Latest updates
1.5
Welcome to GERDragon 1.5
This update is about one thing: making it quicker to write down what you ate, how you felt, and what you took.
FASTER LOGGING
Every entry screen has been rebuilt. Fewer taps, no fiddly dropdown menus, and sensible defaults throughout, so a typical entry is now a tap and Save. Anything extra — portion, timing, notes — is tucked behind a Details row, there when you want it and out of the way when you don't.
YOUR OWN DATA COMES FIRST
The foods that tend to precede your heartburn now rise to the top of the tag list, and the medicines that have actually relieved your symptoms rise to the top of yours. What matters to you is where you can reach it.
MEDICINES, SORTED PROPERLY
Over-the-counter and prescription medicines are now separate lists you choose between, so you are never scrolling past things you cannot take. Each of your medicines shows how often it has helped.
DRINKS IN A TAP
Logging a coffee or a glass of wine no longer means working down a long column of steppers. Tap a drink to add it, with your usual ones first — and we remember how you take your coffee.
A CLEARER DIARY
Symptoms, medicines, food and stress now have their own colours across the timeline, the calendar and the day view, so a day reads at a glance. The calendar shows what kind of thing you logged on each day, and tapping a day opens a panel you can swipe through.
ANALYTICS THAT ARE HONEST WITH YOU
Your biggest trigger now leads the screen, with the evidence behind it. Anything with too little data to mean anything says "needs more data" instead of showing a percentage that looks convincing but isn't. Your episode chart has moved behind the Chart button.
FIXES
- Tonight's Heartburn Forecast showed an error instead of a forecast until you had logged your first flare-up. This affected every new user, and is now fixed.
- The last entry in your diary could sit hidden behind the add button. Fixed.
- The forecast now gives you a clear risk level Low, Moderate or High rather than a percentage that implied more precision than it has.
- Better contrast and clearer selected states throughout, in both light and dark mode.
Keep tracking your journey - GERDragon learns with you.
