About Grammar Quest
Grammar that kids actually beg to do. Designed for iPad.
Welcome to Grammar Quest — a world where grammar IS the game. Choose your Alphabeast starter, land at a handcrafted pixel-art island, and battle challengers by answering grammar questions drawn directly from your country's curriculum. Get the answer right? Your beast unleashes Verb Rush or Punctuation Pulse. Wrong? A friendly tutor explains why — then you try again.
It looks like an adventure game. It teaches like a private tutor. It's both.
FREE TO PLAY
Download free. Try the whole of Year 1 with no limits — every concept, every battle, every town. Three sample battles per higher year so you can taste-test anything.
ONE-TIME UNLOCK — $9.99
Unlock the entire game forever. No subscriptions. No ads. No data tracking. Apple Family Sharing supported — siblings learn for one price.
• Years 1 through 9 (Prep / Kindergarten / Reception through to Year 9)
• 4,500+ grammar challenges across 180 concepts
• 20 towns per year level, 4 challengers + 1 Word Warden boss per town.
• 30+ collectable Alphabeasts across six elemental types
• All four curriculum packs
• All recorded voice narration packs
• Every town, every concept, every quest unlocked
• Funny characters and animals in each town with their own facts or puns to share! Enjoy exploring!
• 138 Alphabeasts to collect
• Full Home with multiple to decorate/arrange with purchasable items (e.g. furniture, appliances, decorations, Alphabeast pets) earned in-game defeating Alphabeasts
• Outfits and effects to equip, earned by defeating Alphabeasts to gain in-game coins
• Beautiful background music and sound effects.
FOUR CURRICULUMS, ONE GAME
Switch curriculum in Settings — standard codes, terminology and spelling adapt automatically.
• AUSTRALIA — Australian Curriculum v9.0 (ACARA). Maps directly to NESA, VCAA, QCAA and SCSA outcomes. "Full stops", "colour", "favourite", "speech marks".
• UNITED STATES — Common Core ELA. Grades K through 9. "Periods", "color", "favorite", "quotation marks". "Nominalization" instead of "nominalisation".
• ENGLAND — National Curriculum (KS1, KS2, KS3). "Inverted commas", "noun phrases", British spelling throughout.
• NEW ZEALAND — The New Zealand Curriculum. New Entrant through Y9, Levels 1 through 5. Commonwealth spelling.
EARLY LEARNER VOICE PACK (Prep / Kindy / Reception through Year 2)
Beautifully recorded human narration reads every question, every word card, every story prompt aloud. Built for kids who are still building reading fluency — so they can play, learn and progress before they can read every word on their own.
WHY IT WORKS
Children practise what they see at school every day, but with gamification. Every wrong answer becomes a teaching moment, not a punishment. The challenge curve mirrors the curriculum — so by the time a Year 3 student finishes the Year 3 islands, they've practised every grammar concept their teacher will test that year.
13 QUESTION STYLES
Multiple choice, sort, build, fix, fill

Battles just got a whole lot louder - thanks to Ava!
Ava told us combat felt too samey and needed more "juice". She was right, so we rebuilt it:
EVERY MOVE NOW HITS DIFFERENTLY. Quick Quiz pops your foe into the air, Fix Fury rattles them where they stand, Paragraph Pound flattens them, and a super-effective hit launches them clean off their feet.
EVERY MOVE NOW LOOKS DIFFERENT IN FLIGHT. Grammar Blitz fires a three-shot volley, Syntax Surge throws a lance of light, Simile Strike sends twin bolts crossing mid-air, Noun Barrier hurls a tumbling slab - eight distinct attack styles in all.
THE FINAL BLOW. Win the battle and your opponent is knocked spinning clean out of view in a shower of sparks and debris. Lose, and yours goes flying instead.
MORE PUNCH ALL ROUND: screen shake that scales with the hit, impact shockwaves, flashes on critical hits, and attackers that lunge into the blow.
EASIER TO READ: damage numbers are bigger, clearer, and now stay on screen long enough to actually read.
Thanks Ava - brilliant feedback. Happy questing!
