About GTGO: Find Great Driving Roads
GTGO is a GT road search and navigation app for car lovers to find roads that are a joy to drive. Start finding roads right away, no account needed.
FIND — over 8,400 great driving roads across Japan
We score roads across Japan with our own model and list the roads and sections that are a joy to drive. The GT Score rates how much fun a road is to drive, alongside corners per km, elevation change, road width, traffic signals and speed limits: everything you need to find your next weekend drive, in one app. The map colours roads by width in five bands, so you know a road's character before you go.
DRIVE — navigation built for driving the road
Set a road itself as your destination. GTGO first takes you to the start of the road; once you join it, it guides you along that road all the way to its end. Navigation for grand tourers, made possible because the roads are in the catalogue.
KEEP — every road you drive, logged automatically
Every section you drive is recorded automatically, and your history and completion rate build up road by road. The number of roads you have driven, and how often, is the proof that you love to drive. There are no rankings.
Your completions, pass-throughs and stop-bys are published to the national feed by default (you can turn this off at any time, and recording carries on). What gets published is the name of the section or spot and your distance driven; your GPS trace and your driving speed are never published.
SEND A ROAD AS ONE LINK
Share a whole road with a single link. Whoever gets it can open the road in a browser without the app.
PLACES ALONG THE WAY
About 31,000 parking areas, roadside stations and service areas, so breaks and refuelling are part of the same drive.
WHEN YOU DRIVE WITH FRIENDS
Friends (by mutual consent) can see each other's current position on the map during a drive, which makes meeting up at a rest stop easy. The position of drivers you follow is visible only while they are around catalogue roads and official spots. Start a club to plan drives together.
PRICE
GTGO is free. There are no in-app purchases.
ABOUT LOCATION
Background location is used to record the roads you complete and to share your current position while you are driving. Sharing is on by default: people you follow or who follow you see your current position only around roads and official spots, and friends see it throughout the drive, plus your destination and estimated arrival time while navigation is running. Nothing is shared near the bases you register, such as home. Your GPS trace and speed are never shown to other users. Recording and sharing both stop when you end the drive. Whether you share is chosen in settings before you start a drive; that setting cannot be changed during a drive.
