About Huey: Photo Colour Picker
Find the exact colour in any photo, with its HEX code and the closest RAL colour.
HOW IT WORKS
Open a photo from Photos or take one with the Camera. Drag the circle onto any spot: the magnifier shows the pixel under your finger, and the panel below updates live with the HEX code and the closest RAL Classic colour. Tap Pick Colour for the full details.
WHAT YOU GET
- HEX, RGB and HSL codes. One tap copies any of them.
- The closest RAL Classic code and name, for example RAL 2004 Pure orange
- The closest named HTML/CSS colour
- An approximate NCS notation, estimated from the colour values
- How close each match is, measured with Delta E (CIEDE2000): Exact match, Very close, Close or Visible difference
- Collections to keep colours organised by project, plus a Recent Picks list
- Share a colour with its HEX and RAL code
- iPad layout with the photo beside the panel, in portrait or landscape
- Light, Dark or Automatic appearance, in 12 languages
A sample photo is ready on first launch, so you can try the picker before you open your own.
WHO USES IT
Painters and decorators, interior designers, architects and DIY renovators use Huey to get a RAL or NCS reference from a photo of a wall, door, facade or fabric before they buy paint. Web, UI, graphic, textile and brand designers use it to pull exact HEX and RGB values from a photo or screenshot.
HUEY PREMIUM
The free plan includes 10 colour picks a day and 10 saved colours. Premium removes both limits: unlimited picks, unlimited saved colours and collections. Choose a monthly subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase, which is not a subscription.
The monthly subscription is charged to your Apple Account and renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store account settings.

PRIVACY
Huey works offline. There is no account, no ads and no tracking, and your photos never leave your device.
Please note: RAL, NCS and named colours are the nearest equivalents to the pixel you pick, not certified matches. Lighting, the camera and your screen all change how a colour looks, so check against a physical RAL or NCS sample before you order paint.
