Interteno now plays from tofa media servers as well as Plex. Sign in to your tofa account in Settings, or from the welcome screen, and its servers join your Plex ones in the server menu, marked with tofa's logo. Films and shows, Continue Watching, search and playback all work, and what you watch can go to Simkl.
Describe what you want to watch
In Search, type something like "funny 90s sitcoms" or "a heist film set in a casino", and Interteno finds it in your library, saying what it searched for. It uses Apple Intelligence where your device has it.
Watch Next
When a film ends, Interteno offers three films to go on to, starting with its sequels. Nothing plays by itself. Turn it off in Settings ▸ Video.
Continue Watching widget
Your films and episodes in progress on the Home Screen and Lock Screen. Tap one to carry on where you left off.
Versions
When a title is in more than one library, such as 4K and HD, or has several versions, choose which to play from its page. Interteno picks the one that plays best, and Home and its grids show each film once.
Music
- Replay: your year of listening, with your top artists, albums and tracks.
- Sonic Sage: describe a mood and get a mix from your library.
- Your queue is saved and comes back when you return.
- Keep Playing (in Settings) carries on with similar music when the queue ends.
- Similar Tracks, from any track's menu, and star ratings on Now Playing.
- Searches put studio recordings before live ones, unless you ask for live.
- Lyrics load more reliably.
CarPlay
The Siri button at the top of each list now plays music by name, such as "play Yellow by Coldplay".

- Starting a film or episode stops the music, rather than leaving it paused.
- A Plex Home profile with no music library no longer sees a Music tab.
- Settings shows each server's address when you have more than one server.

BUILT FOR IPHONE DUO Open it like a book and the screen becomes two pages. Home, Libraries and Search sit on the right, just as they look with the phone closed, and whatever you choose opens on the left. Albums, artists, Music, Radio, Sonic Journey and the Dashboard spread across both pages, with nothing on the crease. Prop it on a table and the screen splits around the fold: artwork and pictures above, controls within reach below, and Up Next and Continue Watching beneath a playing video. Closed, every screen turns with the phone and Now Playing keeps its controls down the side. Lying fully open, you get the iPad layouts.
LIBRARIES Libraries open on Recommended, Library, Collections and Categories, as they do in Plex. A music library opens as its own Music home, with radio and shelves drawn from that library. Hide the libraries you never use, server by server.
MUSIC Artist pages gain Appears On: the albums an artist turns up on, from collaborations to compilations. Album pages show the review, label and release date. CarPlay adds a Recently Played shelf. Swipe the mini player away to stop playback.
FOUR NEW VISUALISERS Hi-Fi Display, an 80s deck's fluorescent panel; a Peak Programme Meter; a Cassette with turning reels; and Phase Scope, a stereo goniometer on the CRT tube. Vinyl-style artwork gains a tone arm, the VU meters are redrawn to scale, the meters settle properly between tracks, and the full-screen visualiser opens from the visualiser strip too. That makes 32 styles.
DOWNLOADS Films and episodes now download through your server's own download queue, which is far more reliable, and can start while the app is closed. Downloads are grouped into Films, TV Shows and Music; delete a whole show or album in one go; each one carries its description for browsing offline; and if one fails, it says why.
MULTILINGUAL Interteno now speaks English, French, and Spanish.

About Interteno
Interteno is a native iPhone, iPhone Duo and iPad client for your own media server, written from scratch in SwiftUI. It plays from Plex Media Server and, for films and TV, from tofa. It brings together the video of Plex and the music engine of Plexamp, with an Apple Watch app, CarPlay and widgets.

Now Playing shows what is really decoding: LOSSLESS, HI-RES LOSSLESS, or the MP3 bitrate. Your queue is saved for next time, and Keep Playing carries on with similar music when it ends.
