Knucklebones

Knucklebones is a small dice game about two friends on a front stoop. You roll a die and place it on your board. Kit, your friend, does the same. Match one of his dice in the same column and his goes off the step. Match your own and they multiply. That is the whole game. It takes a minute to learn and a while to stop thinking about.

Beat Kit twelve evenings in a row and the stoop is yours. Then keep going, if you dare.

ONE RULE, FIFTY-THREE WAYS TO BEND IT
Between rounds you stop by the corner store. Relics change what a die is worth, what it can knock off, what a column pays, and what a corner is for. None of them replace the rule; they lean on it. The best combos are the ones nobody told you about.

KIT
He sits across the board every round. He greets you when the streetlight comes on, complains when you knock his dice off, and gives up the stoop when you finally take it. Do not get used to it, he says.
