About Lexico: Syllable Word Puzzle
Lexico is a syllable word puzzle. Read five clues, then join syllable tiles into the words that answer them. Each puzzle is short and calm, made for a coffee break or the commute, and every word you set stays with you in your Word Book.
HOW A PUZZLE WORKS
• Read the five clues.
• Tap or drag syllable tiles from the pool into each answer.
• Every tile belongs to exactly one answer, so the last words fall into place as the pool empties.
• Long answers get a second line, so even seven-syllable words fit on the page.
START PLAYING
• A new daily puzzle every day, the same puzzle for everyone, in the language you pick. It changes at your local midnight and works offline.
• The Starter tier is included in every puzzle language, so you can try each one before you decide.
11 PUZZLE LANGUAGES
Play in English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Turkish or Indonesian. In Korean, the tiles are Hangul syllable blocks. Japanese has its own kana mode: build each answer from kana tiles, and once it's solved you see the word written in kanji. A word puzzle in the language you're learning is a gentle way to practise vocabulary and spelling, and a fun challenge in your own language.
FIVE TIERS
Starter, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert. The clues and words grow harder as you go, and the daily puzzle moves through the tiers across the week, so some days are quick and some take a little more thought.
THREE WAYS TO PLAY
• Normal: each answer is checked when its line is full, and a wrong tile is marked. Hints help when you're stuck.
• Relaxed: unlimited hints, no stars and no penalty for wrong tiles. Just play.
• Hardcore: no hints and no marks while you fill. One check for the whole puzzle tells you how many answers are wrong. Get everything right at the first check for the red Legendary stamp. Hardcore earns double XP.
HINTS WITHOUT TIMERS
You start with 5 hints and earn more by playing: one for each daily puzzle, one for every 10 puzzles solved and two for each finished tier. Earned hints are kept, with no cap. No timers, no waiting, no energy bars, and purchases never add hints. One set of hints works everywhere: dailies, Starter and every edition. Choose "Show the start", "Set a syllable" or, when you really need it, "Reveal word". A "How hints work" card explains the rules any time.
STARS, XP AND RANKS
Every puzzle starts at 3 stars; a hint, or 3 wrong answers, cost one. Your first solve of a puzzle earns XP, and your rank grows as you play. The daily puzzle adds a bonus, and your run counts the days you've played in a row, with a rest day built in and your longest run kept. No loss screens, no guilt.
YOUR WORD BOOK
Every word you set lands in your Word Book, daily words included. Sort it A to Z or by tier, see when you set each word, and watch your vocabulary grow language by language.
STATS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
