About Luminic Light Meter
The light meter your film camera is missing. Point your iPhone at the scene, press MEASURE, set your camera. Accurate to within 1/3 stop, tested against professional meters.
Luminic looks and works like the handheld meters of the 80s and 90s: a real LCD, real stops, no clutter. Built by a film shooter, for film shooters.
METERING
• Aperture priority: set your f-stop, get the shutter speed.
• Shutter priority: set your speed, get the f-stop.
• Scroll through equivalent exposure pairs to pick the combination you want.
• Spot metering for reading just the highlight or shadow that matters.
• Exposure compensation to shift the reading before you measure.
READING LOG
Flip the LOG switch and every reading is saved with aperture, shutter, ISO, timestamp, and a thumbnail of the scene. Long-press LOG to review your session. Up to 50 readings, stored only on your phone.
ACCURACY
• Full ISO range from 3 to 8000, in real 1/3 stops.
• Calibration trim to match your own camera's meter, up to 2 EV in either direction.
• A REC indicator shows while logging is active, and a short haptic confirms every reading.
NO NONSENSE
Works completely offline. No account, no ads, no tracking, no subscription. Buy it once, meter forever.
PRIVACY
Luminic does not collect or transmit any data. The camera is used only to measure light. Your reading log, thumbnails included, never leaves your device.

Latest updates
1.3.3
• Updated the About screen to cover calibration trim and the full ISO range, from 3 to 8000 in 1/3 stops.
• Clearer wording on how the reading log works, including the REC indicator on the LCD.
Feedback and bug reports are always welcome at [email protected].
1.3.2
Logging is now easier to see and feel.
• A REC indicator appears on the LCD whenever logging is active, so you always know your readings are being saved.
• A subtle haptic confirms each reading as it lands in the log.
If you haven't tried the reading log yet: flip the LOG switch on the bottom bar and every press of MEASURE saves an entry with aperture, shutter speed, ISO, timestamp, and a thumbnail of the scene. Long-press LOG to open your history. Up to 50 readings, stored only on your device.
Also in recent versions:
• Spot metering — tap the icon at the bottom left of the camera view to meter just the center of the frame. A yellow ring marks the area.
• Exposure compensation — use +/− on the camera view to brighten or darken before metering. Tap the value to reset.
• Calibration trim — match Luminic to your own camera's meter, up to 2 EV in either direction. Find it in the About screen.
