The map button at the side of the desk now opens a 3D globe, as well as putting the map on your wall. Drag to spin it and pinch to zoom. Tap a country for its flag, capital, population, size and the time there, or scatter the landmarks over it (all 1,189, or one kind at a time) and tap one for its story.
The moon button shades the half of the world where it is night right now, with a line along the edge between day and night and the places where the sun is rising and setting.
Find It
Two games on the globe. Ten to Find asks for countries, capitals and landmarks, and scores you by how close your tap lands. It remembers what it has asked, and shares that memory with Landmark Hunt, so the same place does not keep coming round.
Letter Hunt gives you a letter and asks you to tap every country that begins with it. Nothing is named and nothing is marked until you finish. Then the ones you missed light up and the globe flies you round them. Play it with or without a clock.
True Size
Pick up a country and drag it somewhere else. It stays its real size wherever it goes, which is the thing a flat map cannot do. Put Greenland on the equator and see how big it really is.
My World and Fly
My World paints the countries in your travel journal gold across the globe. Fly sends an aeroplane from one capital to another along the shortest way round the world, which is rarely the way it looks on a flat map.

A word search has joined the Letter Round, under the Go button on its card. Twelve letters by twelve, with seven countries hidden in it — across, back, up, down and on both diagonals.
You are not told which seven, and that is the game. Drag across the letters when you spot one; it counts from either end, so a country hidden backwards is found whichever way you drag.
Stuck? Hint gives you a little more each time you press it: which continent each missing country is in, then the letter it starts with and how long it is, then the letter it ends with, and in the end the names themselves.

The window on the left of the desk opens now. Behind it are twenty-four posters about the weather and the climate, on seven shelves — clouds and fronts and the water cycle, why the equator is hot and mountains are cold, how a thunderstorm builds and how far away it is.
Five questions at the end of every shelf and twenty over the lot, every one of them off a poster. And a search box at the top: type a kind of cloud, an instrument, a country, or a whole question like "how far away is lightning", and the posters that answer it come up, each showing the line that does.
Read the name on the trophy
The engraving on the desk trophy was six points tall on a phone, which is to say unreadable. Tap it and it opens at about five times the size, with the name drawn in properly.
The freehand board tidied up
A country that has clicked home stays put, so pinching to zoom no longer drags its neighbour out of place. Anything still adrift keeps its colour while everything settled turns to pale land — so at the end of a round the one country still out of position is the only coloured shape on the board. You have 80 seconds to locate 10 famous places from a collection of more than 1,000 landmarks.
Drop your pin anywhere on the map and discover how far away you were. Every kilometre counts — can you finish the round with the smallest total distance?
PLAY WITH FLAGS
• Paint the Flag — Recreate national flags one section and colour at a time.
• Drop the Flag — Place each flag into the country where you think it belongs.
