About Mealie - Recipe & Meal Planner
Mealie on your iPhone and iPad. A friendly way to cook from the Mealie server you already run at home. Look up a recipe, plan the week, and shop with the same lists as the rest of your household. Your recipes stay on your server.
RECIPES
Find what you feel like cooking. Search the whole library, sort by name, rating, or when you last made it, and narrow it down with tags, categories, tools, or a cookbook.
Open a recipe and everything you need is on one screen. Ingredients, step-by-step instructions, nutrition, notes, and comments from your household. Scale the servings for tonight, check ingredients off as you go, and tap a time in a step to start a timer. Photos and formatting in the instructions stay right where you put them.
Adding a recipe is easy. Write one yourself, paste a link, or share a page from Safari or another app and Mealie imports it for you. On devices with Apple Intelligence you can describe a meal, draft the recipe on your device, and save it to your server when it looks right.
Keep the library tidy with tags, categories, and cookbooks. Save favorites for the meals you come back to, and mark a recipe as made so you can look back at when you cooked it.

Set a few rules for the kinds of meals you like, then ask your server to pick one when you would rather not decide. Today's plan can live on your Home Screen, so you know what is for dinner without opening the app.
SHOPPING LISTS
Turn this week's meals into a list and take it to the store. Check items off as they go in the cart. They stay grouped by the labels you already use on your server, in the aisle order you are used to. Add a whole recipe when you need a few more things, and the list is saved for everyone in the household. The list you are shopping from can sit on your Home Screen too.
YOUR SERVER
Sign in to the Mealie server you host yourself. Keep more than one if you cook in more than one kitchen. Servers on your home network work, including ones with a self-signed certificate. Each server keeps its own recipes, plans, and lists.
