About Metrhythm: Metronome & Rhythm
Metrhythm puts a metronome, a tuner with a sustained reference tone, and rhythm practice into one app made for concert band, orchestra and ensemble rehearsal. Choose 440, 442 or 443Hz as your reference pitch, and both the tuner and the A / Bb reference tone follow it.
Can't hear how a rhythm in your part should go? Enter the notes and rests, see them laid out as a score, and play them back at any tempo, as many times as you like. Triplets, dotted notes and ties are all supported. It is just as useful if you are teaching yourself piano or guitar and reading rhythms is the hard part. No ads, no in-app purchases, no account, and no network access.
■ Metronome
・Tempo 20–300 BPM in steps of 1. Drag the ruler to set it; flick it and it glides, tap it and it jumps there
・Tap the number to type a tempo directly
・Tap tempo picks up the speed you actually tap
・1 to 12 beats per bar. With 1 beat it simply clicks evenly
・Subdivisions in quarters, eighths, triplets or sixteenths, played softer than the beat
・Accent on the first beat of the bar, which you can switch off
・Pendulum, a beat counter, and tempo markings from Largo to Prestissimo
■ Rhythm practice
Arrange notes and rests, check them on the score, and hear them right away. It does not score your playing; it lets you hear how the written rhythm sounds.
・Whole, half, quarter, 8th, 16th and 32nd notes and rests, plus dots, ties and triplets
・Notes that cross a barline are split and tied automatically; 8ths, 16ths and 32nds within a beat are beamed
・Time signatures 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 6/8 and 5/4
・Loop, one-bar count-in, and an optional metronome on top
・A swing control that slides continuously from straight to swung
・Save rhythms by name (up to 50) together with their tempo and swing, and pick up exactly where you left off
・Copy and paste any rhythm as a short text such as "4/4:q.,e,rq,te,te,te"
■ Tuner and reference tone
・The microphone measures your pitch, and the needle shows the note name and how many cents off you are
・Range from A1 (55Hz) to about 1200Hz. The needle stays put when no clear pitch is heard
・Reference pitch 440 / 442 / 443Hz. The tuner measures against the pitch you choose, so it matches your band or orchestra
・Reference tone in A or Bb at each of the three pitches (6 in total). Switch while it sounds and it moves straight to the next tone
■ Choose your sounds
Sounds are set per role: beat/notes, accent, and subdivision. The metronome and rhythm practice share these settings.
・11 built-in sounds: 3 clicks, woodblock, rimshot, tick, beep, bell, cowbell, hi-hat and kick
・Separate volume for each role; turn one all the way down to silence it
・Use your own sounds by importing a WAV file or recording with the microphone
・Trim a single hit from an imported sound while watching its waveform. The original is kept, so you can re-trim at any time
■ How it is built
・Clicks and reference tones are synthesized on the device, so tempo and frequency are accurate to the sample
・Each beat sit
