About Namecho - Manga Storyboard
Turn your script into a manga storyboard on iPad with Apple Pencil.
Namecho combines panels, speech balloons, spread previews, version history and PDF/PNG export in one notebook. The interface and sample stories support 12 languages, including English.
■ From script to balloons
Paste one line per balloon, such as "Yu: Good morning!". Tap a line in the script tray to place it on the page. Parentheses mean narration, square brackets mean shouts, and "# 3P" starts page three. English uses horizontal lettering by default; vertical and horizontal text can be changed for each balloon or in Settings.
■ Panels and manuscript paper
Draw a line across a panel to split it, including diagonal cuts. Adjust gutters and choose tiered, four-panel or storyboard templates. B5, A5, A4 and vertical-scroll paper are available, with right or left binding, trim lines, inner frames and bleed.
■ Check the story flow
Review your pages in two-page spreads. Add, duplicate and reorder pages from the page list. Choose Japanese lettering styles or Traditional and Simplified Chinese Gothic and Ming fonts.
■ Save and revisit earlier versions
Pages save separately using atomic file replacement. Last saved time stays visible. Works are checked when opened, and unreadable pages are recovered from earlier versions where possible. Deleted works stay in the trash for 30 days.
Automatic versions are kept when you close the editor and every 10 minutes. Create named checkpoints before a revision. Restoring an earlier version also preserves the state before restoration.
■ PDF and PNG export
Export single-page or spread PDFs and white or transparent PNGs at 150/350 dpi. Select trim lines, page numbers and bleed, then send the files to Files or a drawing app.
■ Draw with Pencil, move with a finger
Apple Pencil draws; your finger moves balloons and panels. Two-finger tap undoes and three-finger tap redoes. Finger drawing, focus mode and keyboard shortcuts are supported.
■ Namecho Plus
Plus removes the export watermark, keeps 30 days of automatic history and retains named versions indefinitely. Family Sharing is supported. Works and pages have no limits. Automatic saving, recovery and trash are available to everyone.
On iPhone, review works, edit scripts and correct balloon text. Drawing works best on iPad.
Your works stay on your device. No account, ads or analytics. Export work backups to Files and include your device in regular backups before changing devices.

Latest updates
1.3.0
Export can now leave out panel borders and balloons, so you can use just the rough sketch as an underdrawing in your drawing app.
When drawing with Apple Pencil, swipe the page sideways with a finger to go to the next or previous page.
Fixed an issue where, after duplicating a page, drawing on either page brought in lines from the other page.
1.2.1
軽微な改善
1.2.0
Fixed an issue where exporting to PNG or PDF in Dark Mode turned black lines white, leaving pages blank. Export previews and page thumbnails now show lines correctly too.
For right-binding works, the page list now starts with page 1 at the top right and runs from right to left.
When using Apple Pencil, swiping the page with a finger no longer takes you back to the page list.
