About NextPage Sheet Music Reader
Imagine having all of your music on one iPad, and never another page turn to worry about. NextPage was made by a lifelong musician and software engineer for one job: reading music in rehearsal and on stage.
TURN PAGES WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT
• Tap or swipe to turn, or use a Bluetooth page-turn pedal and keep both hands playing.
• Page Links jump straight to any page, a repeat, a coda or the next verse with one tap.
• The bars fade away while you play, so the music fills the screen.
• Crop away wide margins, and rearrange, repeat or skip pages without touching the PDF.
MARK IT UP LIKE PAPER
• Use pens, a highlighter that tints the page without hiding the notes, musical symbols, shapes and text notes.
• Write with Apple Pencil using Apple's own pens, pencil and marker.
• Share any song as a PDF with all your markings, ready to send to the band or print.
BUILD THE SET
• Line up your songs for the performance and step easily through them from one to the next.
• Keep as many set lists as you need and reuse them.
• Bring in charts from the Files app, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive and Planning Center.
KNOW EVERY SONG AT A GLANCE
• Song Info keeps the key, tempo, composer and arrangement for each song, with a circle of fifths for picking the key.
• Attach a rehearsal track from the Music app or the Files app and play along from the bar at the bottom of the screen.
• A built-in metronome keeps counting as you move from song to song.
KEEP IT SAFE
• Back up your songs, set lists and markings to iCloud or Dropbox, and bring them back on a new iPad.
• Show the music on an external display or projector.
• Dark music mode shows white notes on black paper for dim stages.
NextPage Annual subscription

Latest updates
2026.6
NEW AND IMPROVED
• Song Info has a new look. The song's title is the heading (tap it to rename), Key and Tempo sit right under it, and the details are on a card. Tap Key for a circle of fifths and tap a key to set it.
• Score Type is now a menu, and it's filled in automatically when a song's name says what it is, like "Amazing Grace (LEAD)".
• A song's audio track can now be an audio file from the Files app, such as an MP3 or M4A rehearsal track, as well as a song from the Music app. Audio files can be included in your backups.
• Share a song with your markings. Song Info's share button now offers a PDF with your markups, text notes and Apple Pencil drawings drawn in, ready for Mail, Messages, Files, AirDrop or printing.
• Back up to iCloud. Choose where your backups go: iCloud, Dropbox or just this iPad. Your PDFs can be backed up to iCloud too, and only new charts are sent each time.
• Restoring a backup now brings back missing charts and tells you what came back.
• A better Highlighter. NextPage's own Highlighter now tints the page and leaves the printed music black, and it no longer gets darker where strokes overlap.
• The metronome keeps playing when you move to the next song, switching to that song's tempo. To have it stop instead, turn on Settings › Advanced Settings › Stop Between Songs. Stretch Music Vertically has moved there too.
• Page Arranger: Reset keeps your markings, Page Links and bookmarks follow their pages when you rearrange them, and deleting or duplicating a page no longer mixes up markings.
FIXES
• In Dark Mode, black Apple Pencil markings no longer turn white (a bug in 2026.5). Your markings were never changed.
• Importing PDFs from Google Drive, OneDrive and other cloud services in the Files app now works.
• Some PDFs no longer show a black strip along the right edge or top.
• On iPadOS 27, Apple Pencil drawings now move correctly when you crop or uncrop a page.
• Renaming a song no longer loses its Apple Pencil drawings or leaves Song Info blank.
• Fixed a crash when locking the iPad just after drawing with Apple Pencil.
• The Draw with Finger switch works properly again.
• Erasing a symbol works consistently the first time.
• Starting to draw while a tool's menu is open no longer adds a stray line from the edge of the page.
• A Dropbox restore no longer stops partway when one chart can't be downloaded, and a refused backup file now tells you why and which file.
• Smoother audio scrubbing, and more fixes for restores, Dropbox linking and German and Spanish key names.
The full list is in NextPage's Release Notes.
