Now you can, with Pinyin TL!
With Pinyin TL, you take a picture, select some Chinese text within that picture, and that text is displayed at the top of the screen along with its corresponding Pinyin.
You can even tap on a word (at the top) and see its CC-CEDICT dictionary entry.

- High-accuracy text recognition: Simplified and traditional characters, horizontal and vertical alignment, stylized text, handwritten text.
- High-accuracy Pinyin: Correctly resolves most polyphonic characters.
