About PlanB: Grand Prix Calendar
PlanB is a companion for the motorsport season: the calendar, the results, the standings and a full breakdown of every race, in one app that stays out of your way.
RACE WEEKENDS, IN YOUR TIME ZONE
The season calendar shows every round with all its sessions — practice, qualifying, sprint and the race — converted to your local time. The current weekend moves to the top and stays there until the race is over, so you never have to hunt for it.
TALK THROUGH THE RACE
Race chat opens 30 minutes before the first session and stays open until 30 minutes after the chequered flag. One room per event, everyone in it watching the same thing you are. Reply, mention someone and they get a push, react with any of twelve reactions or just double-tap a message. Read without an account; sign in with Apple or Google when you want to post.
PICK THE PODIUM
Every race week, call who finishes first, second and third. Picks close when qualifying starts and are scored after the race: 3 points for a driver in the right place, 1 for a podium driver in the wrong one, 2 more for the exact podium. See which drivers the paddock put on each step, climb the season table, and if you make the top ten, your place shows next to your name in race chat.
LIVE, WHILE THE SESSION RUNS
A track status strip shows green, yellow, safety car, VSC or red flag the moment it changes, with the lap count. Open it for live race control and live standings with gaps, tyres and pit stops. Qualifying, the sprint and the race appear on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island by themselves, five minutes before the start, and you can get a push when the safety car comes out or the red flag goes up.
SEND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT
A weekend, a result, the standings, a race dashboard or your podium call goes out as a card with a link to that exact screen.
THE RACE, TAKEN APART
Every finished race gets a dashboard: the classification with gaps and grid changes, position changes plotted lap by lap, lap times you can compare driver against driver, tyre strategy with every stint and pit stop, safety car and virtual safety car periods, the most overtakes, weather through the session, and the full race control log. Tap a driver for every lap split into sectors, with deleted laps struck through and the reason, or put two drivers head to head: the gap lap by lap, best sectors and the ideal lap.
STANDINGS AND COMPARISONS
Driver and constructor standings for the current season and past ones. Put two drivers side by side and see how their seasons actually differ.
REMINDERS THAT ARRIVE ON TIME
Get a notification before each session of the weekend, and choose exactly which ones you want. Turn reminders and news off entirely if you would rather not hear from the app at all.
ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN, HOME SCREEN AND WRIST
A countdown to the next Grand Prix on the Lock Screen and the Apple Watch face. On the Home Screen, the whole weekend day by day with a countdown to the next session, and the season as dots in the colo

PICK THE PODIUM
During race week, the weekend card asks who will finish first, second and third. Picks close when qualifying starts and are scored after the race: 3 points for a driver in the right place, 1 for a podium driver in the wrong one, 2 more for the exact podium.
• Build your podium before you sign in; sign in only to lock it in
• Once you have picked, see which drivers the paddock put on each step
• The season table ranks everyone, and the top ten wear their place in race chat
• Share your podium as a card; the weekend card shows your pick, then your points
MORE ON APPLE WATCH

RACE CHAT
• Twelve reactions, and a double-tap on a message reacts with the flame
• A clearer menu when you press and hold a message
• A half-written message waits for you when you come back

LIVE DURING THE SESSION
The big one. While a session runs, a strip under the chat header and above the schedule shows the track status — green, yellow, safety car, VSC or red flag — and opens live race control and live standings with gaps, tyres and pit stops.
ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN
Follow qualifying, the sprint or the race on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island: track status, the lap count, the top three with gaps and your team's driver. Tap "Follow on Lock Screen" in race control, or let it start by itself with "Live Activity during sessions" in Settings → Notifications (iOS 17.2 and later).
THE RACE, LAP BY LAP
• Tap a driver in the classification to see every lap split into sectors, coloured the way the broadcast does it, with tyres, pit stops and deleted laps struck through with the reason
• The best lap and the ideal lap, shareable as a card
• A head to head of two drivers in one race: the gap lap by lap with pit stops and safety car periods, best sectors and a score
TEAMMATE BATTLE
Open a driver's standings card and tap "Teammate battle" to compare two drivers across the season: qualifying, races and points, wins, podiums and poles, and a dot for every round. Either driver can be swapped.
FIXES AND POLISH
• Safety cars, red flags, penalties and deleted laps appear in the race chat right where they happened
• "Track status alerts" in Settings → Notifications sends a push for the safety car, VSC, a red flag and the return to green. Off by default
• The race chat stays open when rain or a red flag pushes the race past its scheduled slot
