Platen now unfolds with iPhone Duo. • Half open: your Box and Studio on the left, the page on the right. • Standing like a tent: the page above, the keys below. • Fully open: the whole sheet on a paper desk. • Closed: the front screen, edge to edge. Also new: a bigger bottom bar and smoother scrolling at night.

Crafts of the World brings country capsules and painted margins together in one pack, also included with Studio. Celebrate Día de Muertos with a new pack of colourful capsules, rail ends and paper decorations. Korean typing follows every growing syllable, with richer Fresh and Worn ink. Chinese typing is steadier when words wrap, and emoji get their own hammer strike. Find a beginning among 120 first lines. Platen now speaks Ukrainian, too. The share button is on by default, and the character count is easier to read with large text. For a quieter Home and Studio, you can hide the machine and rail. Choose to hear your typewriter even when your phone is in silent mode. A softer paper launch, quicker picker navigation and sharing, little capsule stories, and tidier Studio settings.

Open Platen tonight and let the paper stir. • Seven capsules: Frankenstein sparks as you type; Ghost Lantern; Lantern Pumpkin with a flickering candle; Mummy with swinging bandage tails; Delft Skeleton; Haunted House with windows lighting up one by one; Crystal Storm with lightning. • At night, cobwebs on the rail sway with the capsule, spiders cross the paper, bats leave the lamp, and thunder rolls with lightning. • Two rail ends: a carved Jack-o'-Lantern that glows at night, and Mummy Wrap. Add a red balloon tied to the capsule, carnival lights under the rail and wandering footprints. • Included with Platen Studio, or available on its own. New crafts for your capsule • China: cinnabar lacquer, blue-and-white porcelain and white jade. South Korea: celadon with cranes and mother-of-pearl lacquer. Mexico: Tenango embroidery and Oaxacan black clay. Each pack is carved in 3D from real crafts and included with Studio. Jade and brass rail ends join them; packs now sit in tidy rows you swipe. You asked, we listened • Flower bookmarks in six colours, with a colour filter in the Box. • Platen now speaks Russian (Русский). Russian, accented letters (é, ü, ñ…) and Greek get the real typewriter strike and uneven ink. • Korean, Chinese and Japanese regain the worn, uneven ribbon look. Characters sit at a balanced size beside Latin letters, fitting more on a line; the hammer strikes during composition and confirmation. • Share short notes with “Centre on page”, the capsule in the middle, and a “Share to Instagram Story” button. • Follow Platen on Instagram, X and Xiaohongshu from Settings. Smoother writing • The first lines stay still, and curved paper no longer briefly flattens. • Photo stamps stay sharp, keeping their size and place. • Selecting and pasting no longer scroll the page under your finger. • Interrupted iCloud sync no longer duplicates letters. • With the narrow margin, the capsule stops at the rail ends. • The home screen shows the full month and letter count.
