About Plenilune: Moon Phase Tracker
Plenilune shows the Moon as it is tonight: its phase is computed from its real position, then drawn like an engraving. I built it end to end with one idea: bringing together, in a single app, the precision of astronomy and the beauty of engravings.
Version 2 puts the Moon back in the sky. Switch to Sky and it steps back among the constellations, with the sign it is crossing. Tap it and turn it with your finger to reach its far side, with the Earth and the Sun behind it. At night, hold your phone up: the viewfinder lines the drawing up with the real sky and leads you to the Moon.
Moonrise and moonset times are computed offline for the place where you are, and so is the visibility of eclipses. And every morning, a moon story: a saying, a belief, a fact of astronomy.
Day to day, Plenilune lives on the Home Screen and the Lock Screen through its widgets, now up to the extra large size. It can alert you when a full moon, a new moon or a quarter approaches. Any page can be shared as an image or a short clip, with the Moon drawn as it really is that night.
Premium opens the full-screen Moon, the viewfinder and the calendar of every month from 1900 to 2100. It reveals the names and stories of the twelve traditional full moons, alerts you to rarer events such as eclipses, supermoons or the Moon changing sign, and adds inks for the app and its widgets, including one you mix yourself. This is how Plenilune can live without advertising.

Plenilune now shares what it shows.
On the daily note, a day sheet, a named full moon or an eclipse sheet, a new button turns the page into an image: a Story, a Post, or a four-second clip where the sky turns around the Moon. The Moon is engraved as it is on that date, eclipse included.
Moonrise and moonset are back in the right order on Today and on the day sheet. On about every other day the Moon sets before it rises, and the app used to list them the other way round. Days with neither event now say so.
Premium now shows a little of itself before you join: notifications, days outside the month, archived full moons and upcoming events can be glimpsed, and two named full moons are offered in full instead of one. The Premium texts have been rewritten in all six languages, and so have the daily notes and the full moon stories.
Premium members can join the TestFlight beta from Settings.
Fixes: the rating button in Settings showed a raw key, several premium doors needed two taps, and a failed purchase or share stayed silent. The heart on Today is gone; the rating request now comes after three days of use.
