RC Designer

Precision Engineering on the go.

RC Designer is an advanced mobile tool built specifically for structural engineers, consultants, and students working within the Hong Kong construction industry. Designed strictly according to the Code of Practice for Structural Use of Concrete 2013 (HK COP 2013), this app streamlines the complex process of reinforced concrete member design.

Whether you are performing quick spot-checks on site or batch-processing an entire structural model, RC Designer brings desktop-level analytical power to your mobile device.

WHAT'S NEW:

ETABS Batch Integration: Seamlessly import ETABS analysis data (via Excel .xlsx) to instantly batch-check hundreds of beams and columns.

Interactive 3D Viewer: Visualize your imported structural model directly on your device. Tap any member in 3D to instantly view its detailed design calculations.

Professional PDF Reports: Generate comprehensive, step-by-step PDF calculation reports for individual members or export a complete batch summary with 3D model screenshots to share with your team.

Manual Rebar Overrides: Edit rebar and shear link arrangements on the fly, and watch the Utilization Ratios (UR) and pass/fail statuses update instantly across your batch tables.

COMPREHENSIVE BEAM DESIGN:

Flexure Design: Supports both Singly and Doubly reinforced sections.

Automatic Detailing: Intelligent rebar arrangement based on section width or manual override.

Shear Links: Calculate required links (S.S, D.S, T.S, or Multi-leg) based on V/vc limits.

Deflection Check: Real-time Span/Effective Depth ratio verification with precise modification factors.

Detailed Traceability: View full calculation steps with direct references to specific HK COP 2013 Clauses.

ADVANCED COLUMN DESIGN:

Biaxial Bending: Interactive M-N Interaction Curves for both X and Y axes.

Slenderness Effects: Automatic calculation of additional moments based on effective height.

Visual Detailing: Dynamic, scaled cross-section sketches showing precise rebar and link layouts.

Shape Support: Full support for both Rectangular and Circular columns.

Multi-Load Case Support: Effortlessly handle and envelope multiple load cases from ETABS outputs to find the governing design.

Disclaimer:
This app is intended for use by qualified structural engineers for preliminary design and checking purposes. All final designs must be verified against official code documents and independent calculations.
