About Readglide: Speed Reading
Most speed reading apps show you a bigger number every week. Readglide shows you one number, and it only goes up when you actually understood what you read.
That number is your effective reading rate: words per minute multiplied by your comprehension score. Raw speed is never shown on its own, anywhere in the app. Reading twice as fast while understanding half as much is not progress, and the app refuses to call it progress.
SEVEN MINUTES A DAY
A session is three or four short drills and then six comprehension questions. The drills target the habits that actually slow reading down:
• Chunk Light — a highlight sweeps the text at a set pace, so your eyes stop crawling word by word
• No Going Back — the text moves forward only, to break the habit of re-reading the same line
• Narrow Column — one look per line, with the column widening as you improve
• Schulte Table — find numbers in order using your side vision, to widen your eye span
• Word Sprint — a word flashes, then four meanings; recognition should be automatic
• Find and Leave — don't read, scan: locate a phrase and get out
• Pick the Summary — skim, then choose the summary that actually matches
• Flash Chunk — words appear one at a time in the same spot, so your eyes stay still
The plan adapts to what you find hard. Do well and the next session is faster; struggle and it eases off.
YOUR OWN TEXTS
Paste something, import a PDF or EPUB, share a web page from Safari, or point the camera at a page of a book. 130 original passages are included in English and Turkish if you'd rather not bring your own.
Comprehension questions are generated from your text on your device. On iPhones without Apple Intelligence, you write a short summary in your own words instead and the app scores what you captured.
YOU VERSUS YOU
Progress compares you to one person: yourself, four weeks ago. A dashed line shows where you were. There is no leaderboard, no comparison with strangers, and no rank.
A missed day is an empty dot. There is no countdown warning you that you're about to lose a streak, no energy meter, no lives, no daily quota. You can stop whenever you want.
NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE
Readglide has no network access at all. Not restricted, not encrypted — the permission is never requested, so there is nowhere for your reading to go. No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking.
Everything is stored on your device and deleted with the app. Settings has "Export my data" if you want a copy, and "Delete everything" if you don't.
ONE-TIME PURCHASE
Pay once. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no paid tiers. Improvements arrive as free updates.
DESIGNED TO BE READABLE
Adjustable type size, line height, column width and a paper, night or sepia theme. Full VoiceOver labelling, Dynamic Type support up to the largest accessibility sizes, and Reduce Motion respected throughout. Available in ten languages.
WHAT THIS APP DOES NOT CLAIM
It will not triple your reading speed, and it
