Rekko: Film Recommendations

Great film and TV recommendations often disappear in group chats.

Rekko gives friends, couples, families and film clubs a private place to share what to watch, save personal watchlists, rate titles and see where they stream — without adverts or a public feed.

No algorithm choosing your next series. Just recommendations from people you know.

CIRCLES
• Create a circle (Family, Friends, Film Buffs, Work — whatever you want) and invite people with a single iCloud sharing link.
• Each circle is private: invitees are gated by iCloud, and the data lives in your own iCloud account.
• Filter your home feed by circle, so the office chatter doesn't drown out the family film-night picks.

YOUR LIST
• Follow series and films with four statuses: To watch, In progress, Watched, Dropped.
• Rate watched titles with a quick 0–5 stars and a one-line take.
• Sort by recently added, alphabetical order or rating. The list is yours.

DISCOVER
• Weekly trending television and films from TMDB.
• “Most rated in your circle” shows what your friends keep coming back to.
• Search across titles, year, synopsis, country or director.

RECOMMEND
• Send a title to a specific circle with a personal note (“Short but really intense”). The recipients see it in their home feed, mark it as added and the loop closes.
• Receive a push notification when a friend recommends something — open it, land on the title and tap “+ Add to list”.

WHERE TO WATCH
• Apple TV shows which streaming services carry the title in your country. One tap, with no separate provider apps to install.

PRIVACY
• No third-party trackers. No adverts.
• Sign in with Apple — no email address or phone number required.
• Series, films, ratings, circles and recommendations sync through your own iCloud account (CloudKit).
• Full data export and one-tap account deletion in Settings, in line with GDPR.

REQUIREMENTS
• An iCloud account signed in on your device — Rekko uses iCloud (CloudKit) for syncing and circle sharing.
• iOS 18 or later. iPhone and iPad.

Made for people who care about taste more than reach.
