SailRouting is a route planning app designed specifically for recreational sailors.
It helps you plan an optimized route based on current weather forecasts and your boat’s characteristics, with no technical complexity. Simply enter a departure point, an arrival point, and a departure time to instantly receive a suggested optimal route.

No complex setup, no GRIB file downloads: all calculations are handled automatically on our servers. The app provides you with the best route based on current conditions, directly on your screen.

A planning tool – not for navigation at sea

SailRouting is intended to be used before you set sail, while you still have an internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile network). It’s a decision-making tool that lets you evaluate multiple route options over the coming days based on wind, currents, and your boat’s performance.

The goal is to help you anticipate your passages more effectively: estimated travel time, sail configurations, expected wind (strength and direction), current zones – everything is factored in to help you choose the best moment and route.

A simple and connected experience

All your routings are saved securely and accessible within the app. Calculations are executed remotely on our servers, making the experience fast, intuitive, and completely file-free.

Reliable data for accurate calculations

Routing can be computed using different wind forecast models such as GFS (updated four times per day) or ECMWF (updated two times per day), combined with ocean current data from the Copernicus system (updated daily). This data is automatically integrated into every route calculation without any manual action needed.

Customize your boat

You can select a "standard" boat based on its hull length and type (monohull or catamaran). This allows SailRouting to estimate your boat’s performance in a simple and practical way.

You can also configure additional characteristics: ability to use downwind sails (spinnaker), minimum sailing speed, engine consumption, and more. These settings help tailor the routing results to match your actual performance.
