About SourPro
A sourdough loaf takes a day and a night, and for most of it the dough wants nothing from you. SourPro knows which parts are which. It walks a bake from the first mix to the oven, calls you back when the dough needs your hands (the folds, the shaping, the oven) and paces the waits between to the temperature of your kitchen. A cool room stretches the plan; a warm one tightens it. Tap "step done" as you go and the plan reflows from where you actually are; tapped too soon, the back arrow undoes it. Start now, at a time, or from when you want it out of the oven. The bake stays on your lock screen, and on iOS 26.1 and later the oven can ring like an alarm.
TWENTY RECIPES, WRITTEN TO BE BAKED
From a same-day house loaf, a wholemeal and a cheddar and jalapeño to baguettes, focaccia, ciabatta, bagels, burger buns and pizza five ways, to the plate. Each is scaled to the loaves you want, with the weights printed on the step where you need them, and most can go into the fridge overnight so the oven lands when you're awake.
YOUR OWN BAKES
Write your own recipe, or start from one of ours and make it yours: your weights, your steps, your words, timed to your kitchen like the rest. Keep versions, and share a recipe as a file.
HOW'S IT LOOKING?
Photograph the dough at any step, or the starter in its jar. A quick look reads it on your phone in an instant. Ask for a closer look and Apple's private cloud reads the photograph with the whole bake so far, privately, and says what it sees, what to do and what to check with your hands.
A STARTER THAT'S NO TROUBLE
Haven't got one? The Starter tab grows one with you from flour and water, a day at a time, and tells you what's normal on the days nothing seems to happen. Inherited one? Five questions and it's yours. Once it's going, it lives in the fridge between bakes, and SourPro reminds you when it's hungry.
THE CALCULATOR
Baker's percentages that explain themselves. Start from any recipe or a blank page, move the hydration, salt or levain, and it tells you what the change does to the bread.
THE PANTRY
It knows what's on the shelf. Starting a bake takes the flour off; when something runs low it says so, with a link to restock.
THE BREAD BOOK
Every bake kept with its notes, its rating and its photographs, and any loaf can go out as a poster. When something goes wrong (a dense crumb, a flat loaf, a gummy middle), Reading the Loaf explains it in plain words.
GRAMS OR OUNCES, °C OR °F
Weights in grams, ounces or cups; temperatures in either scale. Change it from the pill on any card.
Bakes survive the app being closed, the phone restarting and twelve hours of being ignored: the timeline is computed, not counted.
One purchase. No account, no subscription, no analytics. Everything stays on your phone, unless you ask for a closer look, and even then it stays private.

How's it looking? now works at every step, and for your starter. A quick look reads it on your phone. Ask for a closer look and Apple's private cloud reads the photograph with the whole bake so far, privately, for that one answer.
Bringing a starter home: answer five quick questions, or just describe the jar, and SourPro plans its first feeds.
New recipes: House wholemeal, and cheddar and jalapeño. Pizzas go all the way to the plate, toppings included. Bake in a wood-fired oven, in a Dutch oven, on a steel, a tray or a tin.
