About SuperChess: Neon Mate
Every level is a real position from a championship game. You play White. Mate is not one move away — it is twenty, and your moves are counted.
100 LEVELS, 100 REAL GAMES
Each position was reached over the board in a tournament, and the game it came from is named: the players, the event, the move number. Nothing invented.
A MOVE BUDGET, NOT A CLOCK
Nothing ticks. What runs out are your moves. Reach checkmate inside the budget or the level is lost, so every move has to earn its place. No shuffling, no waiting for a mistake.
DIFFICULTY IS A RHYTHM
Levels do not simply get harder. Easy ones alternate with hard ones, and even the hardest are built to be beaten by someone who plays well without being a master.
ONE LEVER, AND THE GAME NEVER BLOCKS
Beat the opponent at full strength and the level is worth three stars. Cannot do it? Lower their rating and try again for two, then one. A single star clears the level, so you are never stuck. Your best result is kept forever — come back whenever you like and raise it.
OR JUST PLAY A GAME
Outside the levels there is a whole game from the starting position. Pick White or Black, pick how strong the engine plays, and play it out. Leave halfway and it waits for you.
LOOK AT IT AGAIN
Any finished game can be walked through move by move, with the notation written out — the levels too. See what you did and where it turned.
TAKE IT BACK
Dragged a piece somewhere you regret? Step back a move, or several, and try another line. The board remembers where you came from.
BUILT TO BE PLAYED ANYWHERE
Works fully offline. No account, no sign-up, no ads, nothing to buy. In English and Spanish.
The positions come from publicly broadcast tournament games, used under CC BY-SA 4.0. Every level names the game it was taken from.
