About Syxloom: MIDI SysEx
Keep your MIDI SysEx work organized, see what is inside it, and review exactly what you are about to send.
NEW IN 5.0 — PATCH NAMES AND PATCH TOOLS
The inspector lists the patch names inside recognized dumps: Yamaha DX7 voices and 32-voice banks, Korg minilogue, monologue, prologue and minilogue xd programs, Sequential programs (Prophet '08, Prophet-6, OB-6, Rev2, Prophet-5, Take 5), Novation Circuit patches and Behringer DeepMind 12 programs. A name appears only when the published layout matches exactly; community-documented layouts are labelled. Build a 32-voice DX7 bank from voices anywhere in your library, save a single voice or rename one into a new copy. Edit bytes as hex with live validation, repair a Roland, Yamaha or XG checksum into a new copy, import SysEx from Standard MIDI Files (.mid), and find identical files or the same sound saved under another name. Audition a destination with a test note, chord, program change or All Notes Off, and use documented patch-request presets and published pacing gaps.
CAPTURE AND INSPECT
Monitor chosen CoreMIDI sources, inspect complete and partial messages, and keep the reported source and termination details. Import .syx and .mid files, review framing and supported checksum layouts, and compare changed byte regions. Unknown device formats remain unverified.
A REVIEWED TRANSFER
Prepare a frozen plan with the destination, exact message order and effective pacing before confirming a send. Use remembered device pacing profiles, follow progress and cancel later messages. One transfer runs at a time. The app never silently replays an interrupted operation.
SNAPSHOT COMPARE
Save copies of selected messages before a session or repair, compare two snapshots and share a JSON change report. Comparison never sends MIDI.
KEEP A RECEIPT
Review the latest 200 local transfer receipts with message hashes, destination, pacing and completion, cancellation or failure. CoreMIDI completion records the operating system's result; it does not prove the instrument received or stored a patch.
A RECOVERABLE WORKSPACE
Name and tag messages, add notes and build ordered send sets. Export the complete workspace, inspect a backup before replacing current work, and preserve original bytes when recovering unreadable storage. Backups include exact SysEx bytes and metadata. They are unencrypted; the integrity checksum detects accidental corruption and does not authenticate the author.
EXPLORE WITHOUT AN INSTRUMENT
Nine labeled sample messages and a capture walkthrough introduce the workbench. An explicitly offline pipeline check exercises validation, review, pacing and capture through an internal transport. It sends no MIDI and does not test hardware compatibility.
CONNECTIONS YOU CHOOSE
Use compatible CoreMIDI interfaces or endpoints supplied by the system and other apps. Optional Bluetooth MIDI pairing is available. Real capture and transmission require a compatible connection and the instrument's documented settings. Syxloom

PATCH NAMES
The inspector now lists the patch names inside recognized dumps: Yamaha DX7 single voices and 32-voice banks, Korg minilogue, monologue, prologue and minilogue xd programs, Sequential programs (Prophet '08, Prophet-6, OB-6, Rev2, Prophet-5 and Take 5), Novation Circuit synth patches and Behringer DeepMind 12 programs. Imported files are named after the patch they contain, and search matches patch names. Syxloom never guesses: a name is shown only when the published layout matches exactly and the bytes are plain text. Layouts documented by the user community rather than the manufacturer are labelled.
DX7 BANK BUILDER
Pick voices from any DX7 bank or single voice in your library, order them, and save a new 32-voice bank with a correct checksum. Save any voice from a bank as a single voice, or rename it into a new copy.
EDIT AND REPAIR BYTES
Edit a message as hex with live validation. Roland, Yamaha and XG checksums can update automatically. Repair a mismatched checksum into a new copy. Originals are never changed.
MIDI FILE IMPORT
Import Standard MIDI Files (.mid) and Syxloom extracts every complete SysEx message.
DUPLICATE FINDER
Find identical files, the same sound saved under another name, and DX7 voices repeated across banks.
AUDITION AND RECALL
Play a test note or chord, send bank select and program change, and send All Notes Off to every channel.
REQUEST PRESETS AND PACING
Documented patch-request presets for DX7, Korg logue, Sequential and Circuit. Pacing profiles can use published gaps: Roland 40 ms, Circuit 20 ms, or 150 ms for older gear.
