Thabat - Quran Hifz Review

Memorising is the easier half. Keeping it is the work of a lifetime.

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, likened memorised Qur'an to a tethered camel: watch it and it stays, turn away and it is gone. Thabat is the tether — a short daily review that tests what you already carry, so that you keep carrying it.

WHY TESTING, NOT RE-READING

Pulling an ayah back from memory holds it more than twice as well as reading it again — for the very same minutes spent. It is also the older way. The Qur'an was carried by 'ard and mudarasah, recited back to someone who would catch you, never by reading in silence. Thabat is that someone on the days you cannot find one.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Mark what you hold. Tap the surahs, ajza', or pages you have memorised.
2. Open it tomorrow. Thabat lays out a short plan — today's stretch, with anything due or shaky pulled to the front. You never have to plan it yourself.
3. Test yourself. Continue the verse. Fill in the blank. Spot the swapped word. Name the ayah that comes before. Reorder the words. Or recite aloud and have every word marked.
4. It settles. Every ayah you recall comes back later, timed for just before you would have forgotten it.

RECITE ALOUD, MARKED WORD BY WORD

Recite from memory and Thabat marks each word you said, each one you missed, and each one you replaced. The recogniser is never told which ayah you are reciting — so it cannot quietly "hear" the words you meant to say. It hears what you actually said.

Your recording is graded and discarded in the same breath. It is never stored, never reviewed by a human, never used to train anything.

BUILT FOR THE MUTASHABIHAT

The similar passages are where hifz gives way — two ayat that run together for six words and then part. Thabat knows where they are, drills the exact pairs that catch you, and shows you the word where they split.

IT NEVER GUESSES AT THE QUR'AN

Every letter of Qur'an in this app comes from a verified mushaf text. Not one word of it is produced by a machine. Questions and hints are drafted with care and pass a scholar's review before they ever reach you.

WHAT THABAT IS NOT

It does not teach tajwid or qira'at, and it is no substitute for a teacher. It guards what you already carry — that is the whole of it.
